Having trouble quoting it on phone.

Basically says it is a mixed bag.

Kind of confirms much of the spoilers I listed in the other thread.

So it isn't He-Man, it is Teela and the Universe

Went down the comment rabbit hole and came across this gem....have fun

"U.S. kids don’t get their first sex-ed until age 11? Really? By age 11 Canadian kids are taught in public school what every letter of LGBTQ+ means, taught not only the parts of the body but also that gender identity is not defined by the parts of their body. If you don’t teach them in elementary school, how do you expect them to make an informed declaration of their own gender and sexuality?"

Part of what made She-Ra and the Princesses of Power so good was the way it completely reimagined the classic cartoon.

Almost stopped here.

Skeletor (now played by Mark Hamill)

Oh man that's exciting! Maybe you all knew this already but I did not know Mark Hamill was going to be in this.

And just like that, the excitement's gone.

That dude is clearly trolling.

ETA: Nevermind. I just realized this is on The Verge. That dude is 100% serious.

Teela's show, featuring He-Man.

Honestly, I was too old when this show aired, so it's really no skin off my nose , but it's sad to see yet another franchise get dumped on by a so called 'fan' in Smith.

I don't even recognize Kevin Smith anymore. This isn't the same guy I used to know.

You never knew him, you didn't watch the original show in question, and you are basing your opinion off the new show's continuation on an extremely brief summary of some reviews.

Seems like a legit reason to be bothered.

I'm being honest, and apparently that's triggerig for you.

I listen to those who DID watch the show, those who grew up watching it and were fans. And I've paid attention to KS get revealed to be a liar and shown that he was never a fan, despite claiming he was.

What part of ' no skin off my nose ' did you not get ? I just see the pattern repeating itself, of male characters being subverted and outclassed by secondary female characters. I've posted multiple examples of this in many threads.

Don't take my word for it though.

Who is this even for? Adults who liked the cartoon? Today's children? I don't get it.

Like many of the empty nostalgic cash grabs they’re hoping to rope in old fans and bring in the new generation…per usual both will end up hating it

I don’t know what that has to do with the show, I’ve been pumping my son up for this since the first trailer and I really don’t want it to suck. Should I be worried? I’m not worried about so-called woke stuff, I just a good He Man.

The linked review suggests it won't have much to do with He-Man.

My spoiler post in the other thread:

POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Based on what I read around various places. . .

-Skeletor will kill He-Man and take the sword, becoming "Skelegod"

-Skelegod kills the Sorceress, most of He-Man's friends, and the King

-The spirit of He-Man reincarnates or some such silliness

-Teela puts together a team and goes off in search of the new conduit for He-Man

-Evil-Lyn joins Teela, because without the Sorceress she has no nemesis, and fears Skeletor is too powerful. . .in reality she wants Teela to become the Sorceress so she can take her power and become powerful enough to take Skeletor's power.

Just finished the first two episodes and they were pretty good IMO, and a Karen haircut isn’t what came to my mind. It might not be exactly what someone born in 1980 remembers but I don’t think the woke police can complain too much.

I just finished the first two and I barely got through them. This show is hot fricking garbage and I’m about the biggest He-Man fan there is. Me and my bro had all of the toys. We even had two Fistos.
