Just watched the Battle of New Orleans episode and the "Bannana Man" episode. Pretty cool stuff.

With the right historical story and the right comedic actors, it could be good.

I think too often it was just too much “Let’s improvise everything and make something funny out of this when we get to the editing room” approach that Paul Feig attempted with 2016 Ghostbusters.

That show's quality varied with how well the person telling the story could hold their liquor. If they could stay fairly lucid, it was really just a history lesson with some funny-ish acting. But if they became a slurring, confused mess, it could be comedy gold.

This show has ruined me for serious historical re-creation shows. We're watching Lincoln on CNN and we keep waiting for the actors to act drunker as the episode goes on.

I enjoyed the show and its premise. It's a shame it was cancelled.

Still have no idea what he was thinking when doing that. Some (not all) of those actresses have pretty good comedic timing, but improv wasn't their strong suit. It takes a combination of having that "improv gene" AND good chemistry between the actors.

CC has thrown in the towel on original programming which is a shame.
