Just want to say this show is still kicking and is the best weekly stream right now.

Can you imagine that dinner table conversation if the daughter had told her father she was transgender and saving up her coal mining money to get a penis? Things were simpler back then.

Probably the best show I’ve seen this year. Very compelling.

Keaton should get an Emmy nom.

Besides the obvious evils of the pharma company, this series really shows the disgusting predators that feed off of addicts. The pawn shop owner and the "kind" woman pushing drugs on recovering addicts come to mind. There are some despicable, opportunistic people in this world.

I've enjoyed the series and I'm not anit-vax but it does throw a wrench into the "Trust the Science" argument when the science told everyone that oxy was non-addictive.

Thought about that too but didn't want to make this thread political. My thoughts were specifically how the FDA employee was able to manipulate the label gray area that set off the sequence of events and everyone just went with it.

How much did Oxycontin go for in street value per pill?
Let's say a 40 and an 80?
Probably would depend on the year and the area, once they started cracking down they skyrocketed supposedly. Then once they made them tamper proof, the other alternatives (that used to be cheap bc everyone wanted the real oc) all sky rocketed.
As bad as that shite is, it has to make you wonder though now about how much the crackdown has led to fake fent pressed pills and other stuff. I mean it is directly related to the Purdue situation that started it (well definitely helped start it). But it certainly has had an even longer lasting effect. Awful shite.

I think this was touched upon in latest episode, but if I am recalling correctly an article from years ago in the New Yorker, PP's own testing down in Puerto Rico was throwing up red flags about their claims of non-addictive and a smoother, longer curve.

Man, if the U.S. Attorney for Maine (Jay McCloskey) really did signal to Purdue that he was willing to play ball with them (before they hired him as their consultant), that's a whole 'nother level of evil.
