I finally watched it last night, and I didn't expect to like it. It just looked really weird, and I'm not usually drawn to stories centered around mystical science fiction and straight-up magic. However, it was a lot more entertaining than I thought it would be.

I feel like what was introduced has a lot of potential to take Marvel into a compelling post-Infinity War universe.

Thoughts?

I thought it was alright...definitely was a better experience in the theater though.

Really cool visuals, but the film itself is boring.

Up there for me as well. I can tell they went a little slower knowing majority of viewers wouldn't know the backstory. Really cool battles helped me get over the slower pace.

One of my bottom tier Marvel movies although I am excited to see him in the mix with everybody else in Infinity War

The scene where he gets blown out of his body and starts bouncing through the macroverse is pretty incredible. That and the end were the only parts of the movie I really enjoyed, rest of it was pretty slow.

I liked the film, and really like the potential going forward.

Most of the MCU characters are fairly interchangeable... Iron Man can take on Hydra issues, Cap America can take on Spiderman's foes, etc.

I like that Dr Strange has a unique set of powers and bad guys that the other heroes can't mess with, and built-in rules that explain why the world at large isn't witnessing his exploits on CNN.

If I remember, in the comics they matched him up against Dracula a good bit. Vampires and other such monsters would be a good side story that you wouldn't say "where's the other Avengers?".

I just don't see there being a market for 4 or 5 doctor strange movies. The first one was good, but dr strange has a pretty compelling origin story. Actual dr strange comics are pretty meh.

He is a great guest character in comics though.

I enjoyed it but I think they montaged Strange's mastery a little too fast.

The movie could've been 30 minutes longer and I would've had no problem with it. Strange is a badass. I cant wait to see what he does in Infinity War

There would be if they made a small "team" around him like they have done with Cap (Falcon, WS, Sharon Carter, etc.).

You throw in someone like Brother Voodoo, Jennifer Hale, Johnny Blaze, (although Netflix could use both of those), some version of Black Knight or Hellstrom...

There are a lot of fun stories and villains to play with.

the film introduced some of the larger concepts in the MCU- the deity the Living Tribunal & the Multiverse.

Will actually be a cornerstone movie going forward.

What mastery really?

He is skilled, and learning above the bell curve, but he got his arse kicked by pretty much everyone.

It’s only till he started to get his hands on exceedingly powerful artifacts he was able to hold his own.

Maybe mastery as a surgeon and genius before he developed any powers...I enjoyed that part of the movie actually.

I liked how they showed his powers growing in Thor Ragnorak. Pretty much owned the situation dealing with 2 Gods
