Do you ever just lose interest in a show for no reason even though you like it?

Say you’re really into a show, think it’s great and all that, then you are watching it and find yourself just no longer interested even though the show is still the same?

It happened to me with Cobra Kai, I started watching the first episode of season 3 and halfway through just realized I didn’t care about the show and stopped watching, have no real interest in watching anymore. I really enjoyed the first two seasons but have no interest in watching it anymore, and it’s not because the new season is bad or anything, I’ve barely seen 20 minutes of it.

Ray Donavan. The first two seasons were great, but they kept pulling further and further away from what made the show fun: Ray doing his job as a Hollywood fixer, It just kept getting darker and darker and more depressing. I think I gave up in Season 4 and never finished it.

I don't watch dramas anymore that run for more than 40 episodes or so. I'll never finish them regardless of quality.

See this is giving up on a show because it changed or lost the quality that made you like it.

I mean having no reason to stop watching, it’s not worse or different, same quality show but you just don’t care about it anymore

I do this a lot. I get very hooked on a show want to know all the back story. Then when they just keep pumping out seasons that are Okay but mostly just shite hitting the fan I give up. I feel like a lot of shows have really good ideas for a season or two. Then realize they have no clue what to do next and just start going crazy

A lot of comedies get repetitive especially with long binges. I will take 6-12 months off of a show then jump back in refreshed where I left off

Burn Notice. I was hooked on this series like few others, and it just got repetitive. Even as they introduced new characters and enemies, it was still just Michael getting hosed by some mysterious puppet master for no real reasons.

I never saw the last episodes.

i really liked the first season of "the Americans" on FX. For some reason, just lost interest about 3 episodes into the 2nd. Only show i ever gave up on after 1 season. from what ive heard though, seems i need to finish it.

I can't quote an example but I have a few times with shows that took a longer than normal hiatus. Game of Thrones was one. When they returned for the last two seasons, I wasn't much into them and they did nothing to win me back. i watched them because we always had a watch party with friends.

I've done this with a few shows

Initially I think it's for no reason, then I look back and realize the show had just started to drop off

Shameless is the most recent example I can think of. I just stopped caring

I started the Walking Dead from it's original airing. Loved it. Watched Season 1. Missed the beginning of Season 2 and have never gone back.

*Did the same with Vikings

The Blacklist.

No criticism of the show really. For some reason I just stopped watching it and never got back around to it. Haven’t had the interest to finish the series (might be because I don’t remember where I left off). It was a little formulaic but it didn’t bother me too much.
