Did you know that Steven Spielberg is currently filming a remake of West Side Story?

Westside Story itself is a remake of Romeo and Juliet. This story has been done many times.

Me too.
One of the best Broadway musicals ever in the hands of one of Hollywood's best directors.
It could be really good, provided they don't try to put a SJW spin on the story. It already has star-crossed lovers of different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

Now the slope has been slipped.
West Side Story is a beloved classic.
Now the door is open to what we all feared...remakes of Sound of Music, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia, Vertigo...The Searchers (just kidding, they'd never remake that.)
