Detail in Home Alone I never noticed

Having seen this movie 1000 times because not only is it a staple during Christmas time, but it's simply one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces of our time, watching it last night I just noticed a detail I somehow missed all these years.
Pay attention to "Old Man" Marley, Kevin's shovel wielding neighbor, and the emphasis they put on his hand throughout the movie.
Kevin's 1st real encounter with Marley in the convenience store, Marley puts his hand on the counter and it's all bandaged and bloody.
The next time they meet is in the church where he sits next to Kevin, and Kevin realizes he's not the boogeyman he initially thought. Marley also reveals his bad relationship with his son. When they shake hands Marleys hand is healing, with just a bandaid on it at this point.
At the end of the movie when Kevin is reunited with his family, he looks out the window and "Old Man" Marley has too been reunited with his family. Marley waves at Kevin and now you see his hand totally healed.
The symbolism here is obviously that the hand represented each of their relationships with their respective families. When it was bandaged and bloody, both were at odds with their families. In the church they both began to realize how much they missed their family, while Kevin also showed Marley that he needs to "heal" his relationship with his son. Finally at the end, the healing has commenced and both are reunited with their families.
It's always fun finding new little details even with movies you've seen a million times. It's usually the sign of a great movie (or maybe in my case an unaware viewer).

I really thought this would be about the plane ticket.

I thought this would be about
A) the ticket in the trash
B) them head counting the neighbor
C) the tree knocking out the phone lines in the beginning of the movie (later said to be only the long distance lines not the local lines as Kevin orders a pizza)

Wow, that’s something I don’t think anyone in the Overanalyze thread has ever noticed. Bravo!

Well done.
Me and the ole lady will be watching it this week.

So is it established that Kevin's father is a drug kingpin or mob boss?

I would guess family money.
Or hitman.
Or hitman.

And I love how seriously the local law enforcement took missing children back then.
Ring the doorbell a few times, "tell them to count their kids again".

I remember thinking how cool either this house or the Griswald's Christmas house would be. So big.
Each has to be 5,000ft^2
Each has to be 5,000ft^2

Tell that looney toon mother that there is no way a child is in here. Clearly, an 8 year old would answer to banging on the door without me announcing that I am a policy officer.

I’d say that’s Frank. I have a feeling Peter is the consigliere.

Head counting neighbor was obvious.
