quote:
She’s shaking, doesn’t want to let go. Behind her, the Door OPENS. A Little Boy, 6, asks — BOY: Mama? ABIGAIL: NO! OUT! NOW! Frightened by his mother, the Boy runs. Abigail turns back to Pennywise. Wherever he may be now in the room. The light somehow seems to spin faster now. She kisses her baby and sets it down. It BAWLS. ABIGAIL: I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…
She turns away from the baby. Faces those dying embers. We keep on her face as they seem to begin GLOWING BRIGHTER AS — OVER HER SHOULDER — OUT OF FOCUS — Pennywise crawls over to the Baby and starts to feast. SHARP CRY FROM THE BABY CUT OFF as we hear a CRUNCH. Abigail continues to look into the BRIGHT ORANGE GLOW of not the flickering fire… but the DEADLIGHTS. Her expression changing. Fear. Denial. Grief. Acceptance. And then nothing. Just a glazed look.

Some things from the book not in the movie.
Book spoiler alert I guess. Has nothing to do with end of this film.
A. Georgie is not taken away. He is left bleeding out in the gutter. His open eyes “fill with rain” as an old MAN runs out into the rain to find him and start screaming.
B. Standpipe sequence. Pennywise somehow lured young kids up into an open stand pipe. They fall in and cannot climb out. Pretty good LONG description of young children treading water and screaming before finally giving up and sinking.
C. Candy house. Pennywise gets the kids into a house (or this happens in a dream of one character) the house begins to turn into candy. So sweet it becomes sickening. The children get ill. They run outside to Pennywise “dancing a jig” with a severed baby leg in his hand.
D. Gang bang. Apparently all of the boys run a train on Beverly. It’s apparently consensual. It may have been taken out of some book versions. King says he was coked up at the time he wrote it and regrets it.
E. Bridge scene. Movie they carve the fat kids belly. Book it is 1958 not 1988 (book was written in 83 I think) and the victim there were two gay adult males. Same bullies kick the shite out of the gay guys after one makes a drunken smartass comment. One of the two is then thrown off the bridge by the bully crew after a beating. Ole Baw Pennywise is waiting for the gay dude. This day and age I guess hate crimes on gays can’t be portrayed in film either.
I loved the movie. It wasn’t the book but few movies are. So I make the list not to shite on the movie. Just expand on the thread. Again I loved the movie. I want to re read the book before the adult portion of the movie is made.
It’s been years since I read this so if I am wrong, point it out and I will admit it. If I missed something glaring point it out. This is not the poli board. I won’t blindly defend myself. Lol

Probably after he got hit by a car. Switched to Percocets then.

Brutal.
I'm really hoping for them to go into the origins of Pennywise in the next movie. I just hope it's similar to the smoke hole scene in the book.
