Despite the unfavorable reviews, we were going to see X-Men Dark Phoenix, but when I look at that big movie poster all I see is Sansa Stark and my wife and I are still pissed at the out come of GOT and decided not to attend attend.

We might have still went later had the fan reviews been more favorable but it looks like we didn't miss much.

Are pissed off GOT fans taking things out on this movie? The Solo movie paid the price from TLJ even though it was a decent film.

Does anyone else have this sentiment?

So...

Punishing a completely different product from different studio because it has an actress in the lead that had a significant role in another production?

Yeah. That's the sort of irrational behavior I would expect from the lunatic fringes of GOT fandom.

Let me clarify...If the early reviews had been favorable, we would have went...but with all of the negative press on this film I didn't feel the need to get burned again. The GOT factor was the nudge I needed.

No, it's the product of Age of Apocalypse being terrible, everyone knowing that this is the end of Fox's X-Men franchise, and it being a bad movie.

Superhero fatigue. People invested too much in the Avengers.

how simple minded do you have to be to not be able to distinguish an actor/actress from the role played?

There isn’t anything lunatic about this. She’s a garbage actor, nobody wants to pay to see her be the face of a movie.

This board is lousy with that crap.

I thought the movie was entertaining enough with some good fight scenes. Of course, I went in with the lowest of expectations.

I don't think she has as much star power as they hoped and the franchise have been trending down. Couple that with production problems for a long time, Lawrence being pretty obnoxious in all of the movies and the trailers just not being good and you have a recipe for low numbers.

So even for you, it was about quality, not GOT.

She was a good sansa. But GOT has a cast that pulled weight when others struggled.

They are trying to capitalize off that and she doesn't have the chops to carry a major motion picture.

They are casting people based off of Instagram and Twitter followers.

She got thrown in over her head.

Or maybe Sophie Turner just can't act and the rest of the cast doesn't want to be there and the story, which was the best in the history of the x-men comics and lines up perfectly with an audience that clearly loves space oddysey comic movies now, and the studio absolutely butchered it, juts like they did every single other x-men movie.

X-men was always seen as the crown jewel of Marvel comics and an industry that is supposedly expert in its ability to make compelling stories could never get the stories right in 20 years.
