Considering the fish out of water premise and the silliness, they are actually two pretty good movies. Don’t really get that far over the top. Actually pretty good pacing. Am I on point or is it just the nostalgia?

I found the first one way more believable than the second as far as story line.

CD II went over the top with the drug kingpin and the whole rescue of Sue leading to the chase in the outback crap.

Both were fun entertainment though is how I saw them. But then I kind of liked Paul Hogan's stuff prior to him making those two movies.

same and in my shitty Aussie accent lol. I agree with OP and gumbo said II wasn’t believable with the drug kingpin stuff I somewhat agree but also Sue was a prominent reporter and had the goods. Sure the kingpin wouldn’t have went himself but still

The coolest gang in NY scene is one of worst, lamest trying to be cool scenes in Cinema. I shudder to think the Director cast this scene seriously. They played it straight though. god love em.

Its like they plucked this gang from Disneyland.

Its one of the better unintentional comedic scenes.

Yeah that never gets old.

I was sitting in the theater as a kid next to two old ladies and when that scene happened they both gasped, "oh Jesus.". And were just shaking their heads.

Ah, love the 80s.

Back when "family friendly" movies threw in a little T&A for the boys.

My son had never seen the movie before.

I showed him the scene where she was filling the canteen and the croc jumped out.

My son said, "is she stupid?". Not because of allowing the crocodile a chance at her. But because no one who has spent 1 night in the woods should think that you can drink water straight from a river without giving yourself parasites and diseased germs.

The ending sequence with her running to the subway and everything in the subway is great.

Before Dundee, Paul Hogan has a sketch show in Australia called the Paul Hogan Show. It was pretty damn funny and a lot of the skits wouldn’t be kosher for today’s sensitivities. There are clips on YouTube if you care to check them out. He was also on a mini series called ANZACS which is a Band of Brothers type show about an Aussie Army unit in World War I that’s pretty good.

Yep, that is where I first got a look at Hogan. He was the Aussie version of Benny Hill, the British comedian and star of "The Benny Hill Show".

I will never not watch this scene when I run across it. Leroy Brown is a national treasure. And Rat. It’s tough out on them streets.
