Several of these shows are about to go under.
YouTube suggested a Seth Meyers segment the other day. Holy crap that guy sucks. Amazing how far Late Night has fallen from the Letterman/Conan days. Just unfunny left wing politics. It’s just sad that the same show that used to have Top Ten List and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog now has a nightly monologue that is better suited for MSNBC.
But the viewcount was something like 2 million in one day so people are watching that crap and giving him clicks. Not to mention every other upload on his channel is the same way.
It’s kind of amazing how every Late Night comic now goes hard to the paint for left wing politics. The days of Carson and Leno, where you didn’t know the politics of the host because they made fun of everyone, are over. You’d think one of them would try to do something to stand out. Kudos to Conan for not completely falling in line. I’m convinced that the Tonight Show would be in better shape today if had remained as host.

Because YouTube is pushing it and you gave that clown a click.

Conan will always be my favorite talkshow host of all time. I remember those summers in elementary school staying up every night and watching his late night show every single night. But I don’t know, he seems like a relic of the past now, just trying to hop on to whatever the new thing is to cling to relevancy. I get those type of vibes from a guy like Joel McHale as well. Like the article says, I certainly hope he gets to write his own ticket at HBO Max, but I’ve moved on

The GOAT of remotes...if he were to just do that and do bits with Jordan Schlansky I'd be all for it

I grew up watching David Letterman. When he left NBC and became the marquis man, he lost a lot of that late night renegade quality I liked so much. Conan filled that void, and was the most clever thing on TV for a while. I don't think his quality dropped off so much as the market was flooded with late night talk formula shows, and he got lost in the shuffle.
I wish him well and I hope his projects work out. Maybe he should go back to comedy writing and do a movie.

I can honestly say I've never watched a single late night talk show in decades. No Conan, Kimmel, Fallon, etc.
I did use to watch the old Johnny Carson Show for years when Carson was the host and caught a few with Leno but opted out from then on.

Letterman was good until early 2000s when he lost his way
Dave was never the same after his heart attack then 9/11
The Late Show after his move to CBS was still a great show in the 90s.

I'm still #TeamCoco from when NBC completely screw him. Like you said, he's the only late night host worth a shite. Looking forward to the new show
I wanted Conan to take over for Dave.
It would have been the perfect storyline. The second NBC host screwed by Leno taking over for the first NBC host screwed by Leno.

Letterman wanted Norm to be his successor. He was clearly training him to be his successor even in the early days. Unfortunately Norm despises authority, so there was no way in hell CBS would have hired him.

Seems like as long as you spout one brand of political garbage your ratings don’t matter.
Basically. And also if you're a protected demographic.
The Pete Holmes Show was funny as shite but TBS cut it after two seasons. Pete Holmes drags his freaking nuts on Samantha Bee but her shite show has been on for SIX seasons.

That's literally why NBC didn't hire Dave for the Tonight Show. Guess CBS was different in the early 90s.
