Have the same issues as the first three seasons with people becoming experts way too quickly, some of the drama being a little too soap opera, but overall I really enjoy the show.

The creators have always been explicit about calling it "a karate soap opera," so at least they're straightforward about it.

I've never been to Encino/Receda, but with God as my witness, if I ever visit and I don't find a karate dojo on every street corner like Starbucks, I'm going to be wildly disappointed.

Macchio has to be wearing a toupee, right?

On one hand, this makes me feel old. On the other, I remember seeing The Outsiders in Jr High, thinking that Macchio was around my age and finding out that he was something like 24 years old in that film.

I think the actor who plays Kenny would make a decent Miles Morales btw

One of my son’s old trainers was in this season. Years ago we travelled to Georgia a couple times to train under him for a couple weeks. He was the really tall guy that fought the short kid with glasses. When he popped up on screen we simultaneously yelled out “Holy frick!” and hit rewind to watch it again. It was even more funny because the guy is like 40 and fighting in the under-18 tournament.

The 8th grade drama is almost enough to make me not finish this season. Terrible decision to make that part of season 4

Just finished the season and the show is still kicking arse.

The way the move characters back and forth between heel and face with it making sense is impressive.

I literally LOL'd at Johnny's response.

I imagine the end of the series will come in Season 6 or 7. Some shite will go down and time will pass quite a bit so we can have another tournament to cap things off.

I was pretty sure they (Sam, Robby, Miguel) were supposed to be 16 in Season 1. With them being 17ish by Seasons 3 and 4. So they’ll be “18” by 6&7. I hope they just do a time jump and finish it in 6 seasons personally. Love the show but they’ve expanded the cast and plot enough to get several moving parts going. It’s time to start finding conclusions and start ending storylines

Sometimes it totally feels like that. Other times it feels like genuine drama. But just like everything with the show, there’s a layer of 80s soap opera cheesiness that helps make the show addicting. It’s not high art but it does exactly what it’s supposed to do

Silver really saved this season. They needed to up the ante for Cobra Kai and he did that perfectly.

Silver owned every scene this season. Now give me Chozen vs Barnes and let's put a ribbon on this series.

Right. This show is beyond ridiculous. Nobody would have any problems if they would just communicate.

Miyagi was saying the best defense in a fight is to not be in a fight.

I dont think Mike would take too kindly to Terry. Terry probably never paid him and dropped him after losing the tournament. No way they are on good terms.

Mike may actually come back and kick Terrys arse. He was actually the best fighter daniel had ever faced.

To be a national champion goes beyond the all valley championship. Probably joined special forces, served in desert storm & Iraqi freedom/Afghanistan.

Feel like he got his life together after being humbled. He wasn't an idiot, he knew how to talk and negotiate better positions for himself. I dont think he would like or respect Terry at all these days.

Eta

Imagine if Myagi had worked with someone as talented as Mike Barnes.

Are Kenny and Anthony the only one's young enough to compete in the next tournament?

What if Mike Barnes is Miguel's dad? They never said he was Mexican just that he lived in Mexico City and he was a bad man
