I found it to be promising, but far from perfect.

Set in 1993, a year after Buffalo Bill. Lots of small flashbacks.

Clarice still trying to cope with what happened.

Will also focus on relationship between Clarice and Catherine Martin (girl in the well).

Her first day in DC, the “guys” play an awful joke on Starling.

I like the young lady who plays Agent Starling and also Kal Penn. I think it deserves watching the next episode.

No, I just watched Silence of the Lambs, and called it a day.

I agree it’s good not great. I feel like they tried to pack as many references to the movie as possible in one episode. The lotion prank felt out of place even though I did laugh.

I’ll continue to watch but with no Hannibal it’s going to be hard to get the necessary ratings to work out IMO.

Since it’s CBS, was it “Put the fricking lotion in the basket!”?

It's watchable. Interesting to see how they morphed her from a trainee to a field operative in a new "super-squad".

The drama and personalities were a bit much, but then Silence of the Lambs had some layers of cheese as well.

My wife is a big fan of the books, films, other series, we'll keep watching.

I didn't watch and have no real plans to do so, but I am curious to see/know how they are going to get around the events of Buffalo Bill without having the rights to Hannibal.

His guidance was pretty key in that investigation, despite only having like 16 minutes of screen time in the film.

Edit to add: Or am I mistaken in them not being able to mention Lecter?

They cannot mention Hannibal by name...but they did still reference him.

I thought the nicknames they gave Starling were a good way to mention him without mentioning him.

Bride of Frankenstein, Igor...

How do they do that?

Looks terrible. Yet another example of Hollywood having 0 creativity and just rehashing old stories. The fact that they don't have Lecter makes it pathetic.

They brought up the fact that she allowed herself to be influenced and bonded to a psychotic cannibal psychiatrist who was locked up in a Baltimore mental institution.

I hope they get sued for that. What's the point of having rights to the character if someone steals from you. Remember that British spy who had the 00 code name that liked his martinis shaken not stirred who was constantly shagging birds?

Just watched it. It was okay, nothing ground breaking. The interaction between Clarice and her new boss was cliche and boring. Mean boss thinks the girl can’t cut it. Otherwise pretty standard police procedural. As a rule, I hate police procedurals unless they have something unique like Bones or Castle. I’ll give Clarice a few more episodes before I write it off.

Did they reference the tuck on home video evidence?
