Watched the first couple episodes. It's good not great, but definitely a fun watch so far.

Note to Netflix: please make more Originals like this and less moody, boring C-list superhero stuff.

Its a fun little series. I will give this to Netflix, their original series are very well cast for the most part. The scripts can be shaky and the special effects might not be the best, but by God they tend to have the right actor in the right part.

Even the body double who was Kiernan Shipka's stunt butt was well cast.

I wouldn't put this up there with the first season of Stranger Things but its pretty darn good entertainment and perfect for this time of year.

If they stopped pulling c list comic book characters and making shows out of them, this show wouldn't have been made.

I really enjoyed it. The writers definitely did their homework on witchcraft. I hope it gets renewed for a 2nd season.

Two episodes in right now. It's interesting enough to keep going, but a little weirder than what I normally watch, and a little weirded than I was expecting.

Not overtly scary while watching, but definitely the type of show that could give me weird dreams.

another example of throwing in gay and lesbian relationships just to do it.

This show is very good. I was skeptical since it's basically a remake of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but this show is much darker.

Do you mean Ambrose and Luke? Ambrose is gay in the comic.

I'm not sure what purpose the "girl/boy" Susie character serves. I guess they threw her in just to be PC. She didn't bother me though.

Apparently some viewers were disturbed by the fact the writers clearly linked the witches with Satan, even though Sabrina and her family were not portrayed as being evil.

so you agree with me. shite is annoying. stay on script. write something good. if a character needs to be gay, by god have it gay. but dont do it just to mark a check box.

it's not a remake of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. It's a reimagining/different interpretation of the comic book. Just like how Batman Begins is not a remake of Burton's Batman.

Does anyone else find that the writing and plot devices got sloppy beginning around episode 5? I can't keep from rolling my eyes now multiple times in an episode. And the characters are becoming increasingly annoying.

With the exception of Ambrose, Nick, and Father Blackwood, the male characters on the show are extremely weak. I have no issues with strong female leads (it is Sabrina's show after all), but giving Roz "the cunning" and having Susie communicating with Dorothea out of the blue seemed a bit contrived to me.

SPOILERS:

Now that Sabrina has signed the Book of the Beast and given in to her inner darkness to become a full-fledged witch, I'm curious how things will change in Season 2, if the series is renewed as hoped.

They are already filming, actually they seem to be well along in filming, season 2.

I think they went with a double order right off the bat, but they want to space the series out a bit to get more content.

We will probably get something in the spring and if the numbers are good, and they seem to be pretty good right now, we will get something next fall.

Its kind of like Netflix is doing a full run American TV show with Sabrina but dividing it up into half season chunks to hedge their bets.

As for the show... I finished it last night and its pretty darn good. Yes, Susie the non-binary character is wince worthy even though the actor is perfectly fine. Though Susie would fall into the strong male character subset because both the character and actor are male.

I wonder if they will actually cross this over with Riverdale.

It's made by the same showrunner that makes Riverdale and Sabrina was originally supposed to be on the CW, but Netflix stole the show by committing to 2 seasons up front. The show runner wants to do a crossover LINK / but the president of the CW seems firmly against it. LINK /

If Sabrina is a big hit, and it might be, it does seem like a show that has some legs, then I think CW might be willing to do a crossover.

For right now they just have to sit back and watch to see what happens. If it goes big then sure fine we will do this. If it fizzles out then we try to land Kiernan Shipka or one of her costars for Riverdale.

What's funny is I don't think OP realizes that Sabrina is a c-list comic character from Archie Comics.
