If Disney was going to buy tickets to juice their BO numbers they'd have done it for movies like A Wrinkle in Time, Tomorrowland, and Alice in Wonderland 2 as well.

With a $153 mil opening, $400 million should have been a certainty. It won’t reach that. Some people were projecting/expecting Black Panther numbers. It won’t come anywhere close to that.
It’s obviously a hit for the HoM, but it isn’t exactly blowing through expectations.

No serious person was expecting Black Panther numbers (which were massively above exceptions). Get outta here with that.
It's doing great for a movie that was released in March. It's only the 6th movie released in March to go over $300 million. It is not common for movies to do that well in March b/c less people are going out to the cinema. It's not like summer when school is out for all kids. Winter months have been generally seen a dead zone not b/c companies refused to release anything but b/c th studios have years of market research that shows you just aren't going to get the same numbers that you can get in the summer. Beauty and the Beast is the only movie released in March that it won't pass and it still has a chance to pass The Hunger Games.

The movie calendar has been stretching for years now. Studios are recognizing that you don’t have to release a blockbuster during the summer for it to be a hit. In fact, more are realizing that you can release movies in March and April and even February and have them be huge hits because you aren’t competing for eyeballs and advertising slots
