Burt Reynolds, the charismatic star of such films as Deliverance, The Longest Yard and Smokey and the Bandit who truly had a LOT of fun - on and off screen — has died. He was 82.

Loved him...if you get a chance, pull up The Last Movie Star. We watched it the other night, and really enjoyed it.

RIP Bandit.

I perfect Jerry Reed singing voice:

"They Call you the Bannnndit..."

LINK

The guy was a fricking mega star. The biggest box office draw in the late 70s and one of the greatest talk show guests of all time.

Can't be underplayed how giant of man he was as a movie star. He also invented the post credit gag reel.

Sonovabitch I loved Burt Reynolds.

Probably watched this movie 100 times and never knew his last name was Darville. Nice trivia question.
RIP Bandit!

I pray to God no assmunch tries to use this as an opportunity to push out a remake of Cannonball Run.

Wow. Somehow I didn't see that coming. 82, huh. Though the movies were a little before my time, I always picture Burt as Bandit even though I've seen him in later stuff. The original "Smokey and the Bandit" is an all-time guilty pleasure movie. RIP, Bandit.

Burt Reynolds had SWAG before they had a name for it.

Burt Reynolds probably had more excitement in one week, then all of us in our entire lifetimes.

Just watched Smokey and the Bandit a couple nights ago. Him and ole Sheriff Buford T. Justice and the Snowman can make another chase in the big sky.
