If you aren't watching, you need to stop what you're doing and crack out on the first 3 seasons before Friday's S4 premiere. This is one of the finest TV series in production. The writing, acting and directing are all top notch, and the plotting is fully compelling. Personally I'm not a cop show person, but this one is truly different.

Who's in for S4?

I used to binge watch shows all the time, but basically stopped 3 years ago when my wife first was pregnant, and we were in the process of moving. I just don’t have time to watch a lot of tv.

In the last 3 years, I’ve only binge watched one show, and it’s been each season of Bosch. It’s that good, and that addictive.

Can’t wait for s4

Same here. My wife is more of the binge watcher, but I like to take my time and work my way through shows. Bosch is impossible to do. We started watching it when S3 was released, and I think we finished all three within 2 weeks tops. It's completely addictive.

I got me a bottle of Angel's Envy Rye for the weekend, and I'm cracking out.

Is it wrong that I am actually nervous they are going to screw this series up? It seems like all of my favorites have been made into a mess recently (Homeland I am looking at you) and that concerns me as Friday approaches.

I understand this feeling. Homeland lost me last season, and I haven't even approached watching this one. Not to get political, but once they decided to go SJA for Muslims (I'm fine with this with other shows, but that's not what Homeland was) and turned Carey into a champion I was turned off. Then to make the female president some caricature of Trump I was done. I get that enough from other shows, and Homeland was one that I found refreshing to get to see the other side of the coin.

As for Bosch, they have been so incredibly consistent that I don't see this happening at all. It's rare when a series is this consistently great. Homeland for instance started off incredible and then gave us the bad season 3. The next couple were very good though. Same thing for most other programs: they usually have some bad mixed in with all the good.

I have not had one bad moment with Bosch

i'm not worried about this at all for Bosch. There's already been something like 20 novels written, so the producers/writers have plenty of content to adapt.

I agree that Homeland for the most part went off the rails late in the 2nd season (although i do like the current season), but the Homeland production team doesn't have the luxury of adapting from a wealth of content like Bosch's writers do.

I held out a long time to watch S3 last month to have an ultra short wait for S4. Wasn’t easy to do. Bosch is definitely Amazon’s best original series.

Only others I have watched are The Tick and Man in High Castle (season1 only so far). Both are good, but neither come anywhere near the level of Bosch.

The problem with Bosch is that its descriptive sounds very generic. I didn't watch for a while because of it. One day I was home bored and decided to put it on. That first episode was great, so I decided to wait and watch it with the wife. Best decision I've made in quite a while.

i stumbled upon s1 on a lazy saturday afternoon, turned on episode 1, and ended up watching the entire season within 24 hours.

basically did the same thing with seasons 2 and 3.

s2 has been my favorite so far.

Ehhh, it’s good, but it’s not THAT good. Artistically it’s lacking, and if you took out the swearing it would fit right in on basic cable like CBS, but the character of Bosch is a good one, and I like Titus Welliver playing that character quite a bit. However, it doesn’t register as great for me.

I’ve watched every episode, and will continue to do so, because I love detective shows, but if I couldn’t watch it I wouldn’t be upset. Ultimately it accomplishes what it sets out to do, it’s a solid show.

Bosch is one of the few shows where every season is better than the previous. Can't freaking wait.

The problem was I'm an idiot. I started watching the episode in Season 3 when Harry was having a flashback to his childhood and the flashback was filmed in the old, grainy style. After the flashback 4k !

To those that havent read the books check them out.

I've been considering this actually. My concern is it making the show a bit less interesting, as that usually happens with book to screen translations.

There’s a little variation from book to screen but it’s mostly minor character background. The main plot of the seasons m follows one book with some pieces of other books thrown in. I biggest gripe is he doesn’t have his mustache.
