Saw it in theaters and thought it was just okay. Caught it again on Netflix and for some reason enjoyed it more. Maybe because it was devoid of the campy humor that makes rewatching Marvel movies sometimes stale? Dunno, but it’s a very solid Marvel film.

The one thing that bothers me is Killmonger won the throne fair and square, and T’Challa and company basically plotted to steal it back like sore losers. Not sure why that was okay. Just because he’s the hero? I’m not buying it.

Really? Watched it last night and I was like, it’s ok. All the hype I guess I was expecting more.

The roll of the token white dude Everett Ross was some of the worst shite I have seen in any of these films.

Woah there buddy. It is not okay to think and or say that Black Panther was even a little bit of a letdown. Do you even know how much this movie meant to the world?

Why? In reality, he was the one who shot down all of the planes with the weapons.

Seriously. You usually reserve the phrase ”holds up well” until at least 5 years later.

That was the most badass exchange in the movie though:

"I never yielded! And as you can see, I am not dead!"

"Nah, all that challenge shite is over! In the King now!"

You win by submission or death. T’Chall has done neither

I thought it had a few issues.

One was is the king just required to fight any goober that walks up to challenge him?

The challenge time was last week , go away.

I liked it a little bit more the second time around.

The primitive Wakanda culture is a lot cooler than the high-tech mumbo-jumbo they have. I also really enjoyed the challenge for the throne segments of the movie. I really like when warmonger challenges for the throne because it's his Birthright and in keeping with tradition T'Challa cannot deny him the challenge.

this is the best part of the film in my opinion basically because we get to see a Marvel villain defeat the Marvel protagonist clean. No bulshit or funny business, he was simply better than him.

Meh. Fight was over. Stone Cold didn’t tap out to Bret Hart, but he lost the fight.

It was certainly devoid of humor, for the most part. Which I don’t think is a great thing in a comic book movie featuring war rhinos and a magical kingdom.
