Black Panther - still not rated. Could it be R?
Has there been any word that it could be an R-rated film?

Marvel isn't putting out R rated movies

Just wondering.

Less than a month until release and still not rated.

It a certainly not going to be PG, so it seems to be PG-13 vs. R.

Perhaps MPAA has given a preliminary R and they are recutting to get to PG-13.

I'm not sure how this works, but I think a rating is pending until it is appropriately rated for all territories. And not all regions rate films the way that we do.

That's my guess.

Marvel is going to give a hard cut of the movie to the ratings board, and will try to get away with a lot of stuff.

The ratings board will review the movie and tell Marvel what they need to take out.

Marvel will say "we will take this out, but not this." Gives the board a new cut to review.

Could go back and forth over and over until there is a compromise.

The movie will be PG-13. Its just haggling now.

Marvel's BLACK PANTHER is rated PG-13: prolonged sequences of action violence, and a brief rude gesture.

Marvel Studios has not. Fox has released R rated Marvel movies though. Now that Disney owns it all, that could change though for the MCU.

Really looking forward to this movie. What I'm NOT is the inevitable audience participation...

Marvel, yes, MCU, no. Fox still has the rights to X-Men and Deadpool. Had Deadpool not crushed it, they likely would've signed over to Disney, but there's no way in hell they do, now.

Spiderman was PG13, and it was kind of irritating the PG13 stuff they threw in there b/c it wasn't necessary.

I shoudl'nt have to censor my kid from watching a spiderman movie b/c i dont want him going around saying Penis Parker, or flicking people off, or wondering what porn is.
You want to make Black Panther PG13, no problem, but Spiderman is a superhero that little kids watch more than any other superhero.

I heard the hulk has a masturbation scene that tipped the rating to R
They are fighting really hard to avoid removing that scene because a massive portion of the budget was spent on the CGI needed to create the realism of the scene.

You're right.

You would be much better off censoring him from seeing Vulture straight-up murder a guy and threatening to kill a teenager and "everyone he loves".

Kevin Feige said there will never be an R rated MCU film.
