I can't help myself. Man I wish Netflix wouldn't release the entire season at one time.

I read that 6/8 episodes are watchable.

I thought Iron Fist was a good watch....It wasn't as good as Daredevil S1...but it holds its own against Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and DD S2. All of those 4 were released simply to introduce you to those characters before Defenders....It felt a little rushed which we found out after the fact that it was.

No Dr Strange, Namor, Hulk, or Surfer. No Nighthawk, Valkyrie, or Damon Hellstrom, though Hellcat seems likely to show up at some point. Why even call this the Defenders?

Luke Cage was 4 episodes of excellence then shite. hind sight is 20/20, but writing an oscar winner off your show was really bone headed.

I enjoyed it. I'll admit it wasn't as good as Daredevil, but it was needed to introduce IF prior to the Defenders series

Iron Fist was good. It just had some slow moments that dragged it down a little bit.

I don't think that will be necessary for the Defenders. The villains JJ and LC dealt with were more tied to them personally than the overall Hell's Kitchen plot. Based on who's showed up in the trailers I think DareDevil S1 and S2 and Iron Fist S1 should give you most of the background you need. I'd still recommend catching up on JJ at some point though. These shows have generally been as good as the villain and Killgrave was great.
