I like watching random comedians specials, which has produced some very mixed results... Some brutally unfunny, some hilarious.

Any recommendations?

Joe Rogan Live is off the beaten path and funny as shite.

Eta: If you haven't seen the 2 new Chappelle specials, they're both very good.

Bill Burr's "You People are All the Same" and "I'm Sorry You Feel that Way" are both great. "Walk Your Way Out" wasn't quite as good IMO.

I had never watched a Bill Burr special but I loved all of his. He doesn't hold back

One I had never heard of but loved is Mike Birbiglia. All of his cracked me up. Also (I forget his name) but the Mexican guy who won Last Comic Standing is pretty damn funny.

I also love Bo Burnhams specials. I don't think he is the funniest comedian and he has some very weird bits, but his shows are the most entertaining in my opinion. Most all of his shows have a few really unfunny parts but overall they're pretty great.

You can tell he puts a lot of work and effort into what he does.

Both John Mulaney specials are great.

Mike Bribiglia, especially My Girlfriend's? Boyfriend.

Jim Jefferies.

Daniel Tosh "Happy Thoughts"

It's quite a few years old but it's still hilarious

Birbiglia is great. I'll add John Mulaney's last two specials as very solid with a similar sense of humor.
