I think that episode is a reflection of the writers understanding that the audience had turned on Jim and Pam.

I would agree with this except, the Korean church van where they randomly get people hopping in board and Michael's color coding system for his contacts.

After the Dinner Party, Charles Miner's 6 episode arc is among my favorite of the series.

But Jim still caved in to being a yes man also when he lied about playing soccer to save face. Which of course only validated Charles (correct) thoughts on Jim.

That was Jim trying to counter the horrible timing of some top level shenanigans when he had no idea a new no-nonsense a-hole boss would be showing up. Charles is the classic hard arse who has no real talent or ideas and hates the employee that can produce more with half the effort.

When Michael announces there's been a murder and Creed flees the scene

Charles was an awful manager who had no idea how to even identify strengths and weaknesses of his employees (Kevin is on the phones?) much less get the most out of those talents

First, we must check to see if he is an organ donor.

I know that is one of the most overplayed scenes, but it brings me utter joy to me every single time I watch it. Such a good episode. I need to do a rewatch and start it over. Would make round 3.

Edit: It’s not on netflix, but its free on Peacock (new streaming service, but I think it has commercials).

Creed is low key the best character on that show

After Michael calls him out for buying lunch:

“I do this for all the branches I visit. If you don’t like it, I think there are still some bagels left over from this morning.”

Freaking savage.

No he isn't.

He is the quirky guy that is good in small doses.

re: Best part of the Office is when James Bond figures out Jim is a lazy shite slacker in 5 min
I’ve basically rewatched the show every 5 years since it came out. As I age, I dislike Jim more and more.

I think that’s a good measure of his character. He’s got an apathy that a young person idolizes. But that “too-cool-for-school” attitude eventually gets super annoying and makes him seem self-important. Then even when he does show some ambition, it still comes through as pompous and selfish (I think of his need to move to Philly, seemingly with or without Pam).

Throughout the show he screws multiple people over, sometimes for personal gain and sometimes for cheap amusement. He’s obviously a sadist, displayed through his torment of Dwight. In general I think he’s a self-serving, self-aggrandizing scumbag.

End

Jim is a likable character who is bored with his menial job. He is supposed to be relatable in that respect. Many people are stuck in jobs that pay the bills but are not interesting or challenging.

His career move to Philly showed personal growth and him realizing his potential. It was a very positive development for him. Pam was not supportive and it was a disservice to her character, which went downhill in later years.

Just blaming the woman for having an opinion and not picking up and following the man on his whim

That’s rich. Jim was extremely supportive of her dreams, including her move on a whim to New York. He supported her move to Michael Scott Paper company when he personally thought it was a crazy move when offered. He encouraged her to stay in New York longer because he thought she would regret failing and missing out on that opportunity. She did not return the favor. And then she flirted with an affair with the camera man.

Oh, typical argument from the Jim sympathist’s playbook! A real man would’ve had a conversation right then and there that decided that their default would not be prioritizing careers over each other. Pam might’ve owed Jim one, but Jim should’ve never allowed this dynamic to enter their relationship in the first place.
