Best Nickelodeon character; down to spongebob v Tommy Pickles

Ringer did a bracket for Nickelodeon characters, and the 2 #1 seeds are in the finals.
I go Tommy but I acknowledge it’s a generational thing & spongebob is clearly a more marketable character.
What say you?

The fact that Tommy is going to beat Spongebob ruins that whole bracket...
This isnt a "i hate Spongebob" or "i hate Rugrats" thing.
Im 31. Im clearly more nostalgic about Rugrats. But come the frick on.
Spongebob is like the single most successful cartoon character of the last....what.....30 years?
Hes arguably the Mickey Mouse of Nickelodeon.
And hes currently doubling up Spongebob lololol.
This is just older millenials planting their flag.
This isnt a "i hate Spongebob" or "i hate Rugrats" thing.

Based on that bracket, my Final 4 would have been Spongebob vs Ren and Rocko vs Stimpy.

I mean Patrick beating Zuko? Patrick can be adequately and completely described in a single word: retard. I wouldn’t say that about Spongebob, but Patrick took like 5 seconds to come up with and is the worst character on Spongebob. But he eggs Spongebob on with his stupidity so it somewhat works.
EDIT: Patti Mayonaise beating Iroh… you are out of your fricking mind. Only Gandalf is comparable to him as great of a mentor figure in fiction. How long does it take to describe Patti? A sentence? You need an entire essay on Iroh.

Yeah, this is clearly being voted on by a bunch of 30 year olds. Tommy wasn’t even the best character on that show. That was Angelica.

Spongebob is a good character. Tommy is not. To be honest I’m a bit biased to where neither of them would make my Top 2, but I can’t deny Spongebob is indeed Nickelodeon’s Mickey Mouse.
EDIT: Tommy would have been wiped out by Helga (Top 10 Nickelodeon character) in the second round and Spongebob would have been taken out in the semifinals by Iroh.

FYI only 8 years separate the first airing of Spongebob & Rugrats. This ain’t comparing Bewitched to Seinfeld.
