Batwoman (CW) Watch Thread

I doubt I'll be in this one for the long-haul, unless I hear that they've added some interesting characters from the comics.
The first episode is very basic and fast-tracked to get the origin, premise, and main villain set within one hour. Kudos I guess for not spending a season finding out the secret identity of the villain.
The lead is interesting to look at, and has her moments, but she loses me with the narration. Her narrative tone is as boring as paste (paste with vocal fry).
The girl power moments were telegraphed in the promos, so no surprises there. Maddow as Vesper is a quick V.O. on the radio at this point. (Knowing it's Maddow gives it a bad aftertaste.)
Very much the lesser of the WB superhero shows. Supergirl has her social issues, but at least it has some entertainment value and a slew of guest stars.

I tried. I guess I’ve just accepted there’s only one social/political point of view on television now. But I just can’t watch a 90lb anorexic with zero muscle tone and a butch cut pretending to be a badass. Eat something and hit the gym, or better, cast some girl that doesn’t look like a twig for the part.

I don't mind Ruby Rose but she's not a good actor. I might wait for the season to be over and try to binge it. With critics giving praise to whatever fits their political narrative and right wing idiots review bombing anything from Captain Marvel to this I can't trust any sites it seems

She looks nowhere close to the comic book version of Kate Kane. The comic Batwoman is a "lipstick lesbian" with long red hair that can easily pass as a debutante.

Here's the thing though...if the CW actually uses Batwoman's Rogues Gallery instead of leeching off of Batman's they could actually make this pretty good.
-Alice: They're off to a good start with this one. She is basically Batwoman's Joker.
-Intergang: Whisper A'Daire, December Graystone
-Cult of Crime: Bruno Mannheim, etc.
-Wolf Spider: Basically her "Catwoman"
-White Rabbit
-Nocturna
-Architect: Enemy of the Kane, Wayne, Cobblepot and Elliot families
-Medusa Cartel
-Kafka (a bit strange even for the CW)

I'll finish this season out, but they lost me with the nonsense "kicking two women out of a restaurant" scene in the most recent episode. This would not happen in the U.S. unless they were doing something vulgar. Pretty clear this is going to be unbearably political very soon.

Batwoman has been good this season until the completely unrealistic and unnecessary political garbage this week. It's clear this will be the norm after the Alice story is over, so I'm out after that. It's going to be ridiculously political like Black Lightning and Supergirl have been.
I do still enjoy Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. Not interested in whatever they do with the Arrow kids moving forward, so I guess I won't be far behind you.
Hopefully they keep making the awesome crossovers though.

I'm 4 episodes in and am enjoying it so far. Everyone is right about the lead having acting issues, but the woman playing Alice is knocking it out of the park. I know they eventually will have to end the Alice storyline, but when they do, the show won't be as compelling.
