The first two episodes of the acclaimed action/drama miniseries about Easy Company, 506th, 101st Airborne dropped on HBO that night to sterling acclaim. I was among the millions in the audience that evening.

Hard to believe it's been that long

Almost inarguably the greatest miniseries that will ever be. Lightning in a bottle, even many of the same folks couldn't replicate the greatness in the "very good, but not quite BoB", The Pacific.

I also liked From the Earth to the Moon, which was sort of the prototype following Apollo 13 (which BoB was, sort of, to Saving Private Ryan).

And, absolutely what an interesting time to have a new, patriotic television show launch.

I've been "meaning to see it" for 21 years. Maybe this thread will light a fire under my arse to start it this weekend

My ole lady’s grandfather was part of that crew. Survived. Never spoke about it unless other survivors were there. Kept all the pain from his kids.

Discovered in his letters after death.

I didn’t have HBO but saw it at the video store after it was out and rented the first 3 episodes on a Friday evening. After watching them I drove back to video store to rent the next 3 at 11:30 at night and watched till almost 3 am.

Yeah, I was hooked. I guess technically my first binge watch, before that was a thing

Probably the best tv series ever. I rewatch at least once a year

Spiers is tGOAT

Outside of all his combat scenes this one is one of my favorites of the whole show. Speirs talking to Lipton

Just watched it again a month ago. Absolutely love it!

Set some time aside. Once you start it's hard to not binge watch imo.

Same. My video store rented them out 2 episodes at a time. After the 1st two episodes my brother and I went and rented the rest. We watched it all from beginning to end.
