Maybe an unpopular opinion but I'm not a fan of the Blythe storyline, especially since he's gone after this episode.
Plus, he didn’t die. Both Ambrose AND the producers of the show got that wrong. He survived, and I think he even fought in Korea. In any case, he didn’t actually die until 1967.

Yup. There’s several from back then when I was too busy chasing pussy than watching TV

Not sure I watched all season of Sopranos
The Wite nope
Band of Brothers nope
And probably several more that I haven’t seen.

I do like what Speirs told Blythe about being afraid,
“...the only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier's supposed to function. Without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends on it.”

Blythe doesn’t die in BOB. It was just a weird episode.

Well, the epilogue card on the episode says he died in 1948. Which is wrong. He went to the Korean War and died in 1967, having never retired from the Army.
Love this.
It's funny. I have HBO Max and could watch all of them whenever I want. But I don't (except sometimes around Memorial Day weekend or Fourth of July). But if it's a marathon on History channel, I somehow get sucked in and don't come out
