Bale Nolan Batman
Posted by Revorising

Personally I think DC made a huge error not throwing the bank as these 2 to build the DCU.
What do y’all think?

I can’t see Nolan signing on for a long term franchise like that. He likes his passion projects too much.

Nope. Those movies are perfect Batman movies. As far as setting the atmosphere that is uniquely Gotham.
That was when people truly wanted to do faithful retelling of great characters and stories. I think those movies are Batman best brought to life.
The MCU almost diminishes its individual characters IMO.

They've moved on, it doesn't matter what WB wants

Nolan would never do it.
Batman with Nolan is his own thing.

I didn't personally care for 2 or 3 but still regard them as quality movies and certainly head and shoulders above 99% of other comic book movies.

The dark knight rises was so full of plot holes which made no logical sense even when trying to suspend disbelief that it was un-enjoyable.

I don't understand why everything has to be in a Cinematic Universe now. Sometimes it's ok to give a director a project and get out of their way.
Nolan made a great standalone trilogy that has and will continue to age very well because of his creative control.

Mat Reeve's The Batman is perfection.

Loved Nolan and Bale's Batman. Excellent films. But to me, Keaton/Burton/Nicholson were the goat.

Nolan's Batman never would have worked in a broader DC universe. Bringing in gods, aliens, and magic would have ruined what Nolan built.

List them
..Youre actually serious? Id be here all day if I went into detail..so be it the fake plane crash that any forensic department could figure out was bull shite and the stock exchange robbery that would be set right afterwards, bane armory detection skills, mysterious prison that is a hole in the middle of nowhere that is seemingly unguarded but has television and people are fed, miraculous back recovery in these conditions, getting back to an isolated gotham in record time with no resources, police in the sewers..
And thats not even the minor ones that also make no sense. That film felt rushed, lazy and sub par when comparing it to the other 2. In fight scenes you visibly have people falling down without even being touched. That made it on sceen..Talia was lame, bane was ultimately pointless and catwoman and Robin also sucked.
Maybe had the film been a 2 part installment and allowed time for certain aspect to breathe, may have been better or at least made sense.
Here, have fun with some reminiscing
But have you never sat back and thought of these before, or are you just blinded by Nolan and think he can do no wrong?

Certain aspects yes. Him wanting to quit being Batman constantly? Nope.

Not to mention Bruce's body decaying after only being Batman for a year and a half before going into hiding like a puss, not training like before, and needing a cane at the beginning of the movie to hobble around after eight years of basically being a recluse.

I like all of Nolan's films. I even like the ones that get shite on here, but let's be honest. Nolan has a very distinct style that wouldn't work in something like a connected movie universe and it's the same reason the new Batman movies have to exist on their own.
There are three types of Batman stories:
- The character study of Bruce Wayne/Batman and his complicated, symbiotic relationship with Gotham City.
- The small scale noir detective story/standalone stop the villain's scheme.
- The gadget wielding, god killing, has a dossier on your Grandmother just in case, head of the Bat Family.
The last one is my least favorite depiction of Batman but it's the only one that fits in a DCU with the likes of Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, etc.
Plus I don't think Nolan would ever do it. He's always looking to make his next passion project.
