Anybody remember this one from the 1970's? I saw it when I was a kid and it really creeped me out at the time.

Yep. ABC Made for TV movie. Scott Jacoby was in a lot of them.

Bad Ronald hid out in a converted room after he accidentally killed a neighbor girl. Then his mom died, and a new family moved in.

As my mom and I questioned, when did he flush his toilet-- when the new family were all asleep?

He'd sync it with their toilet flushes. They thought their plumbing had an awesome echo.

The character Ronald was kind of pitiful, in a way. He didn't want to be "bad," but was driven to it after the bike-riding little girl taunted him.

I wonder whatever became of Scott Jacoby?

Top 5 GOAT tv movies. Saw it also as a teen and it creeped me out. Would be an awesome movie to remake.

I agree. Updated, a remake retaining the basic premise could be pretty scary. Just the idea of somebody secretly living within the walls of your house is a scary thought.

Whoa, never expected to see BR mentioned here

I saw it some years after its premiere; I was pretty young so it really creeped me out. I happened to read about BR recently; supposedly the novel (by SF/fantasy biggie Jack Vance) is even creepier than the movie.

More dark and disturbing. Picked up a copy years ago at a used book store. It's available for download on Kindle for $6.

Love me some 70s/80s made for tv horror movies

Haven't seen Bad Ronald yet but it's on my list to watch.

Wow, I was never even aware that the movie was based on a novel. Now I'll need to get a copy of the book to satisfy my curiosity. I remember from watching the movie that the character Ronald was somewhat sympathetic and kind of made you feel sorry for him. It's a rather depressing story in addition to being scary. I liked the movie though, and thought it was well acted. If I ever find a DVD copy to buy, I will add it to my collection.

The movie "The Boy" from 2016 had a similar basic premise.
