Cameron is back producing and he knows how to do strong female characters better than almost anyone without being over the top feminist propaganda. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Hah! Jokes on you a-hole, I didn't have issue with Dark Fate until now. I liked Genisys and all things Terminator in general.

FYI: If you go to the original interview, you can see how the subject of misogyny came up...
quote:

Variety: An early “Dark Fate” poster received backlash, calling Davis and her co-stars “feminazis” and other chauvinist hate speech. How do you think she’ll be received in the room at Comic-Con?
quote:

Miller: If you’re at all enlightened, she’ll play like gangbusters. If you’re a closet misogynist, she’ll scare the f–k out of you, because she’s tough and strong but very feminine. We did not trade certain gender traits for others; she’s just very strong, and that frightens some dudes. You can see online the responses to some of the early s–t that’s out there, trolls on the internet. I don’t give a f–k.

It's not like Miller starting spouting this shite out of the blue. He was responding to people talking shite about his movie.

Was that supposed to make his rant better?

Did any of you actually read the linked interview?

It's a puff piece for Miller to praise Mackenzie Davis' performance, i.e. marketing a film that is coming out soon. Miller says people shouldn't listen to the internet shouters who reacted to the trailer, and to Mackenzie Davis in general. How does this possibly offend you? He calls some shouters mysoginists. If you don't fit that description, who cares?

It's much more fun to link to a tertiary "news" site that leaches off of other sites' interviews and picks off the most controversial comments, amping up the shock value of the article.

I did not see one ounce of this until it was brought up in this interview.

But I also like how if you think about it a certain way she isn't a girl at all.

Like Sarah Connor was not a strong role especially in T2 or Ripley in Aliens2. Cameron is known for strong female roles, and yet his movies set box office records.

It was in a bad movie and an ok tv show, but female Terminators have already been excepted as well.

Strong female roles don’t frighten anyone from seeing a film. Bad films and acting do.

This sounds like a preemptive “last Jedi” defense for upcoming criticism which doesn’t seem like a good thing to get people talking about. I was not completely sure about actress, but she usually does well in the varied roles I have seen her in. Bigger concern was not having Cameron also directing and how well writing was going to be trying to tie more back to his films and their 2 main characters (and aging actors) after this much time.

Considering that each of the last three or four sequels killed the franchise enough to force a reboot, I think it is safe to say this one is going to fail.

It’s like Halloween at this point... the corpse of something once great which gets unearthed and butt fricked on a semi regular basis.

It's not lesbos that are pushing all these "strong female" cartoon characters, it's beta male directors and writers.

Lesbians are too. The best female characters in film of the last 40 plus years were ones whose gender didn’t matter. Ones you could have changed to a male and little to none of the movie would have changed.

SJW's use the word troll to mean: people saying things I don't like

When that's not at all what it means. The people who are saying this movie sucks arse legitimately mean it. It's not trolling. They honestly think the movie sucks.

Trolls:
People who went online to badmouth the quality of Captain Marvel before it was released.

Not Trolls:
People who went online to complain about Captain Marvel after seeing it and simply did not like it.

love how he implies that people won’t like this movie because of female leads, regarding a movie franchise that has one of the most iconic & badass female characters of all time. ?

Also the fact that she wasn't some 'special ops project super soldier created in a lab as some perfect form of fighter' (cause lord knows scientists would create a being with less muscle mass and testosterone).

She was a regular woman who people could relate to and she had to survive to save her child.... when I heard Hamilton was coming back into the franchise I was a little excited (but honestly I think it is kind of dead and needs to take a long break) however after reading and seeing a few videos about the movie and that it will be 'girl power woke' I quickly decided to skip it.
