The wife of the Yankees coach had a smoking body. I still remember her walking away in them hip huggers.

Yep, growing up in the late 70's/80's was a good time. Our sorry-arse little league team was a good facsimile of the bears.

If you played little league baseball in the 70's/80's, you felt like you were watching a rerun of your little league games with the Bears. Bad coaches, drunk coaches, drunk parents, parents having parties and swapping, etc. Boy what a time.

I guess the parents swapping missed my time in little league

I worked at an electronics store in the early 2000's and we always had HBO Family on to show off HD movies, which was a great way to sell big screens. We figured we could keep it on HBO Family and no one would get offended by what was on. Then HBO Family decided to show Bad News Bears on a Saturday afternoon, and we didn't get to watch HBO Family on our TVs anymore.

Something I didn't realize until I saw it again about a month ago on TCM. The kid who played their son Joey (the pitcher who got smacked by his dad and then wouldn't throw the ball):

was the same kid in the old TV series, "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" with Bill Bixby:

Brandon Cruz.

“I got a Harley Davidson. Does that turn you on, Harley Davidson?”

I always loved that line.
Also, first crush was on Tatum O’Neil from that movie.

He’s great in Fail Safe; movie about an accidental US nuclear attack on USSR. Think a serious Dr. Strangelove. Matthau plays a US Defense contractor representative. Once the accidental attack starts, he argues for an all out, first strike attack. Presents his calculations of USSR losses and US losses. Cold-blooded character. Not at all like Buttermaker.
