I caught part of Scott Pilgrim a few weeks not a bad flick but he hasn't really done anything of note in awhile.

The remixed episodes are better for sure

If. You watch the fan cut that makes each episode an actual episode running through the season instead of individual character focused it's just as good as every other season.

Looking forward to season 5. Hope I don't have to endure Ron Howard's voice as much as I did in season 4.

A bit too much narrative for my liking.

I honeslty think the complexitiy and creativeness of S4 actually made it less enjoyable. If it just followed a "regular" storytelling model like 1-3 I think more people woudl have been on board. But the casual viewer's head was probably swimming trying to keep up with so many storylines, in different countries and different locations, for it to really hit the mark.

Agreed. No doubt the effort they made for S4 was even more “AD” than the first three seasons. It’s like they tried to make it overly complicated on purpose. Sure, some of the season was weird, but in the end everything pretty much made sense and it gave me (personally) the same feelings that I had during S1-S3, and I found myself enjoying it pretty much the same as I enjoyed the original run. That’s why I never understood the hate for it, but I think your explanation makes a lot of sense as to why that could have been.

Rewatching season 4 through the remix version. Honestly not sure if they made it better

I’m glad I read this thread. I was SO excited for season 4, and was disappointed. I don’t think I even finished it. I’m going to rewatch with no expectations after reading this.

Same here. I started re-watching it a couple of weeks ago, and it still hasn't grabbed me. Something just seems off with it, and I can't quite put my finger on what is missing. Gonna stick it out though. I'm about 6 episodes in.

It's definitely better. If you don't like it (which is perfectly fine obviously) you just don't like S4 period. I found the remix a lot easier to chew on since it is presented as a much more palatable and continuous story, rather than giving us an ep about 1 character with storylines and background jumping all over the place every which way.

To be fair I am only about 5 episodes in and even the original season 4 was much better near the end.

I am always surprised when I see Michael Cera on screen these days. He somehow gets uglier by the year. He was a cute kid in the first run of this show, but he looked like a goblin in this trailer.

one of the best discreet jokes of Season 4 was when they commented on how he inexplicably aged between two scenes that were supposed to be in the same time period but obviously filmed years apart.
