Are there any actors/actresses that you completely trust film-wise?

I'm talking about actors/actresses that are very careful with what they choose to appear in, and that when they are in a movie, you can just about be 100% sure that you're going to enjoy it.

ETA: This won't be popular here, but it's Seth Rogen for me.

I'd have to go back to the early 2000's to find a DiCaprio movie that I thought he wasn't great it, despite the movie being meh. (J. Edgar and Shutter Island)

Same with Denzel. Been in some meh films but he always gives a great performance.

It was bigger, and I didn’t want to frick everyone’s screen up if they happened to be on a computer.

Long Shot
Sausage Party
American Pickle

Those were all good? I’ve never seen them. Should I?

Good? No.

Worth watching at least once? Yes, simply because it is so incredibly raunchy.

Denzel Washington has never made a movie that I didn't like. Robert Duvall was the other but his last couple (Wild Horses and A Night In Old Mexico) were pretty poor.

The Rock, although I don't think he meets your "careful selection" criteria.

A lot of his movies should just be schlock, but every single one is a fun and enjoyable flick, even if many are forgettable.

If you’re a fan of Seth Rogen’s style of comedy, yes.

Sausage Party is probably my least favorite movie of his, but even it had its moments.

Long Shot is just an R-rated rom-com. Me and the wife really enjoyed it.

I’ll admit American Pickle wasn’t my favorite of his, but I’ve still watched it a couple of times.

I just like his style of comedy. It’s a bit polarizing for sure, so I guess you either do or you don’t.

Completely agree. If he’s in it, I’ll usually give it a shot for the reasons you listed.

His next movie is a Macbeth adaptation, directed by Joel Coen, and co-starring Frances McDormand.

It sounds awesome.

Bill Murray is close. Even Garfield had its good points.

Jeff Bridges and Kurt Russell. To a lesser extent, Vince Vaughn and Mel Gibson. That's about it.
