Turned it on last night when I was desperate for something to watch. Boy, was I surprised. What a great show. It's based on Bruce Lee's writings about a Chinese immigrant who just lands in San Francisco. It's a martial arts type show, but it's really well done.

It’s on HBO max now but it’s two seasons I think.

Really good series if you like action / drama.

With Cinemax killing all it's original programming after just 2 years of doing it things don't look good for a season 3. Maybe HBOMax will pick it up but they would have to see a huge spike in viewers for the show on their platform b/c it lost over half it's audience from season 1 to season 2 on Cinemax.

Yeah it’s entertaining af. Also recommend Banshee if you’ve never seen it.

I was just going to say, this show has "Banshee" fingerprints all over it. Lots of awesomeness and over the top machismo. I am midway into 2nd season and I feel the show lacks a menacing villain. And there are plenty of dialogue scenes I fast forward through (anything involving Asam's white girlfriend or her sister gets skipped), but I did the same thing for Black Sails, so that isn't a strong criticism.

I do enjoy the way they manage the language differences without acting like everyone speaks perfect english. They use the Hunt For Red October trick, but to manage that all the way through two seasons requires a lot of careful attention to who is speaking to whom in each scene.

Yeah same guy, Jonathan Tropper, is creator/producer of both. Guy has a knack for great pulp.

Antony Starr is great in The Boys but his Banshee character is still my favorite.

Very good show. Binged it a week or so ago and rewatching now since I convinced my wife to watch. Banshee had the best fight scenes of any series I had seen previously, and Warrior takes it up another notch with the martial arts. Can’t believe this show hasn’t found a wider audience. Hoping the move to HBOmax gets it another few seasons (at least 5 were planned), but at this point it’s a long shot. Great cast, great sets, great story...so many directions it can go after the end of season 2.
