Any of you folks ever been to a Comic Con?

I've never been to one, but I'm really interested in possibly getting a photo or autograph from a couple of the celebrities coming to Colorado Springs this weekend.
For those of you who have been, what is the process like to get a pic or an autograph? Do you just buy a ticket for a certain day and then stand in line? Do I need to purchase the professional photo op pass?
Any info is appreciated.

I went to Dallas comic con 2 years ago. Got to meet Jack Gleeson (i.e. King Joffrey) and it's amazing how different he is to his character.
But you buy a ticket, there are lines for autographs and pictures, and they each cost something different.

Be prepared every day smells a little bit different at the Con as it goes from busy but clean crowded street anywhere in the USA to "my god why are y'all not showering India!?" 3 days later.

Went to wizard world to scoop up a collectors item

Never went, but there are plenty of micro ones, but I refuse to spend admission. Fees for the con then pay extra just to get some autographs usually from has been geek movies/tv shows.
Sad fact, Carrie Fisher was set to appear at Nola comic-con Jan 2017. That was the first con I had planned on attending just for her, but when she died in December decided against it.

Those days are gone. Cons are no longer overrun with basement dwellers. It's your normal family crowd now, deodorant and all.

I'm just curious how they find so many hot chicks to dress up in full costume for some of these things. Surely they're paid models or something.

Met Lou Ferrigno (my childhood hero) at Wizard Con in New Orleans in 2012. He acted like a dick. But, Kevin sorbo was really nice and so were Stan Lee and Norman Reedus.

The paid models and featured guests are few and far between. Most are just women who like to dress up and get attention.
There are some butterfaces in this world with amazing bodies. You put a ton of stage makeup or a mask or headgear on them and you've got a girl who doesn't get many glances in real life but has people asking for her picture at a convention.

If they turn out to be dicks, I make sure to find a friendly celebrity before I leave so that I leave on a high note.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan was awesome as my exit handshake at last year's N.O. Comic Con.

I was at Wizard World last year as well with my Gaming Gurus club(I'm the sponsor). Hacksaw was awesome, so was Robert Englund, Sam Jones, the Guardians guys as well as Stephen Amell and David Ramsey from Arrow. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My wife even enjoyed it, especially meeting Christy Hemme and friends

I assure you most are not phony.
There are a good bit of sexy nerdy chicks. And, frankly, nerdy is cool right now when it comes to this stuff, super heroes aren't full nerd: they are incredibly popular. Sexy girls want to dress up as super heroes as much as anyone else. There are just more pictures of them.
