Haven't seen this movie in a while and saw where ESPN played it a couple of nights ago. Complete 90's nostalgia watching it again. One of the better Baseball films ever made. Where would you rank it as far as a sports film?

It’s not a sports film, it’s a children’s film by Disney

It’s a little kids version of Rookie of the Year or Little Big League. I never cared for it much.

I found it very nostalgic and fun when I watched it again recently for the first time in twenty years I’m sure. I like it better than Little Big League or Rookie of the Year honestly.

I can still hear that theme music with perfect clarity in my head.
ETA: this movie was a favorite of like every kid I knew especially the ones that played baseball. I think in 2020 baseball just isn’t as much apart of the societal fabric as if used to be. Same with sandlot.
ESPNs 30 for 30 on the California angels historic season

Angels in the Outfield
Probably the most surprising star-studded cast of all time.
Obviously that's kind of cheating because several were in the early parts of their careers so they weren't stars at the time but look at this cast:
Danny Glover
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Matthew McConaughey
Christopher Lloyd
Tony Danza
Adrien Brody
Neal McDonough

Because it's a newborn infant's version of "The Fan".

It’s comical how much taller Randy Johnson is that everyone else when they are celebrating the win.

Well, he's been snuggling with Elton John.

I always wanted a follow up where it shows what happened to all those players the next season. Some of them probably signed big contracts and then ended up getting sent down to AAA because they couldn’t jump 20 feet in the air anymore.

On the Mt. Rushmore of family/kids baseball movies, alongside The Sandlot, Rookie of the Year and Bad News Bears (1976).
