They're just the worst. Overpriced, shitty service, non-stop commercials on the theater you already bought tickets to, filthy theathers, and loud crappy patrons.

Sorry for your loss.

After going to Movie Tavern I can never go back to a normal theater.

We have CineBistro in ATL. They are the most clean theaters I have ever been in, and they serve booze.

Well if it's like the ones in BR, they'll be understaffed, concessions will be awful, theaters will be dirty, and they give zero fricks about the customer experience.

The AMC dine-in in grapevine is better than the studio movie grills around Dallas. And a hell of a lot better than the Rave in Baton Rouge. frick I hated going to that place.

Seems to be about the same as carmike. So much for an improvement.

Go to the Alamo Drafthouse instead. Such a better experience in every sense of the word.

What I've seen when they've acquired theaters is that they like to rip out the soul of the place....make them as sterile of an environment as possible. They also LOVE making people wait in line and not using their facilities to their full potential.

I went once, and for some reason none of the fountain drink dispensers were working. They offered bottled drinks instead. The problem was that the fridge that the drinks were in wasn't working either. When I asked for a cup of ice to go with my hot arse bottle of coke, I was told that I would have to pay full price extra. For a cup of ice.

frick them. I no longer feel bad sneaking in my own food and drinks. I like to take my mother in law to movies now, because she'll sneak whole meals in that big arse purse of hers. We'll be in the middle of a movie, and she'll ask me "do you want a pork chop sandwich or any devilled eggs?"

At the North Park theater, a Bud Light costs 15 fricking dollars. $15. I pay much less in sports stadiums for that to watch a Mavericks game, and I'm just coming to sit in a gummed up trashy movie theater that totally blows? At the Drafthouse, I can get a Bud Light for $3.50 and a good beer for $5.00, just like your average bar in the area. They also personally deliver it to me instead of having to wait in line for 15 minutes and miss the movie.

They have to be the biggest money grubbing whores on the planet. Never waste a second for screwing you out of money any way possible. Won't go back to an AMC again unless I have no other choice.

The theater experience has undergone an interesting evolution. You couple the increase in affordability of "home theater" development in the last decade with digital media, plus boutique theaters popping up, all you're left with for the old school theater experience is companies willing to spend the bare minimum because they've lost significant source of revenue. They see the writing on the wall when the best they can attract is a mix of riff raff and the middle class, and the latter is dwindling with the quickness as the likes of Movie Tavern, etc. keep expanding.

Sundance is far and away my favorite.

IPic in ROD is good if you have a stripper model gf who will judge you/leave you for your best friend if you don't take her there

Forgot to mention this as well. Feels like you're watching the movie with sunglasses on.
