Probably dumb, but he did get one going so if he can keep it going he will probably be okay. They won't be worrying about rain

I posted a weekly separate episode thread last year but realized one one running thread was enough. I may be your culprit and learned my lesson.

Back to the show now that I have changed this heading to include spoilers...

That fellow to show the squirrel with the bow was impressive. right between the years.

I think he’s talking about the crazy dude who posted survival tips in rambling somewhat incoherent stream of consciousness across multiple threads. Kind of thought that it was on the OB. Thought it was an act for a bit but realized pretty quickly he was nuts. He may have gotten banned.

Looking forward to watching this season. Enjoyed Mongolia. Missed last night’s episode.

Damn, old baw shattered his leg on the 4th day.

So the land isn't as sparse as I thought it would be. But man, winter there is going to be fricking rough.

In the season preview it looks like at least one person kills a moose.

Yeah these contestants all seem pretty capable so far. The cold is going to be miserable. Building some sort of cave dwelling or log cabin will be a priority.

First episode was pretty damn good. Even though someone caught a big lake trout I wonder how often they'll catch fish there.

I am actually scared for these guys this season for the treacherous conditions. Is the scope of the show going to change if that is what taps them versus the being Alone part?

I don't know. Either way, this is a refreshing feel for the show.

Crazy that guy snagged that squirrel tween the ears!

It is also "convenient" that the guy made a fire off camera...maybe he hid an item. Haha.

I think they keep choosing harder locations to keep them out there for less time. 60 days is a long time for the contestants as well as the crews. I think they want a max of like 40.

I thought the exact same thing.

Am kind of bummed ole dude from Lubbock went out with the leg injury. He had me laughing when he said to the camera, "Talking to trees is DUMB!" He seemed like he had a lot of camera presence to make fun of the silly "trees are people too" movement.

Yeah he was probably going to be pretty entertaining. It must have been pretty bad because old baw didn’t even try to move.

Looking forward to seeing how these contestants adapt. They seem to be pretty skilled. Those lake trout look delicious AF too

I think you are correct. I'm sure they have plenty of material from all of the contestants cameras to have everything they need for a 40-50 day season.

You also made a good point about the production team. I imagine the daily cost in these remote areas can get a little pricey and i'm sure Alone doesn't operate on an elaborate budget.

Personally I like them moving around to different spots. I was getting a little tired of Vancouver Island. I do like the aspect of starting them in the late fall in locations where we get to see a season change and how they adapt.

One thing I noticed in the season preview is that it appears some big game is going to be caught with some of these contestants which is an aspect we haven't seen a lot of in previous seasons.

That shovel he found would have come in handy too.

He said he had broken brones many times and that this injury was exactly the same as one he had in 1987. He knew as soon as it happened that he wouldn't be able to walk much less survive the rest of the afternoon like that.

6-13-19 Show...I'm Watching now. Getting look at the rest of the contestants. It's amazing how easy it it to make one little mistake and you cut yourself.

Hard to believe another very able fellow had to tap out before his time...Safety tip: Cook your Muskrat thoroughly.

The show did a really good job in editing who was going to tap. I thought Nikki was going to tap with the cut but she really toughed it out and adapted. Also, finding that metal drum can be a game changer. I'm not sure I would have used it in the same manner but her idea was innovative.

He knew he was making a bad decision but did it anyway. He let his hunger overtake his rationality.

It looked like it was charred. Would it be ok if you get it to 185 degrees even if it has worms and shite?

I may need to know this in case I am stuck in the wilderness with a bow and arrow and a meat thermometer.

I'm going to guess he didn't cook it all the way though. Like it was mentioned, he really knew the issues of eating this creature and still moved forward. I don't know if he had the ability to chop it up and boil it but that might be a better way to cook the germs out and have a broth to drink as well...

I actually thought that he should have made bone broth before he even got sick. Seemed like a waste to just throw the bones out. I would have made a stew and cooked he bones all day. Bone broth is packed with nutrients.
