I have been awaiting the beginning of this show and they the one hour special introducing the cast and showing them getting ready for there adventure in Mongolia.

It's an "All-Star" show bringing back popular individuals from the all previous seasons that tapped out for redemption. I really like the people they brought back and this should be a great season.

I am glad they are not going back to Vancouver Island again as that was getting really old.

The Mongolia location appears to be much more open with pleanty of fish and wildlife to hunt. The big twist is they are dropping them off as the Mongolia winter is about to hit where the temperatures are going to be a huge challenge. The people that are able to make extremely sound shelters and the ability to store fire wood and food for the winter will be a big factor.

Alone is easily my favorite survivor show as it is the closest thing we are going to see that is a true long-term survival/pioneer living that doesn't have production teams following them around to affect the outcome...

I want to watch but I just can't stand the 30 min of show and 45 min of commercials I get when I watch on demand. the history app always screwed up and i wind up losing my spot and have to go through commercials again to get back where i left off.

My only issue is, the show is called ‘Alone’. In theory these people are there for up to a year, but because of weather and everything else they never make it more than 3 months. It’s supposed to test how long you can be alone for, not your shelter making abilities. Them suffering in the cold does nothing for me

If you have followed this show, you will know that most of the people that tap our are either homesick, can't find food or injured and not for their skills to handle the elements. One guy had to be removed because he was hoarding food rather than eating the surplus he has stored and lost too much weight.

A hearty winter is part of many areas in a 12 month span. As for "suffering in the cold" not doing anything for you that's fine, but they do suffer from other things such as loneliness, fear of predators, starvation, exhaustion just to name a few....I guess everyone's bar is a little different on what is acceptable viewing...

M For me, I love the show.

It does seem they start the show too close to winter in order to not let it drag on. I'd like to give them a better chance to tap more naturally. I do love the show though still, so thanks for the heads up.

Learned about the show a few weeks ago on this board. Binged all 4 season since and the show is awesome. I love Naked and Afraid but this show is a better representation of survival. I've been pretty good at predicting which person would do well each season after only 1 or 2 episodes. Looking forward to them being in a new location.

If I was about 10 years younger I would seriously think about applying. While people in their mid-50's have done well, I don't think my long term endurance could last...I can handle the loneliness...Peace and quite is very relaxing..

I think the only thing aside from physical endurance would be in a place full of insect like you see in those warmer weather survival show...screw that! I am not remotely interested in getting destroyed but thousands of insect bites!

Right there with you.
No insects, particularly the mosquitoes & gnats.

Gimme the cold weather. I'll build a solid structure & fireplace.

I was glad to see him back.

Also, the boat guy though I had zero clue who he was with the new haircut. Literally didn’t recognize him.

I can’t watch her with that hook in the hand. Makes me nauseous.

I would have put the knife in the fire and then cut the hook out and cauterize at the same time...only problem aside from the pain would be a nasty scar...

Or just yank it out. Coonasses would laugh at that.

Well, Carleigh had to tap out after 5 days due to a fish hook...I thought she had a chance to go deep in the game...tough break. They said she had the hook in her hand for 20 hours before tapping.

Yea, she was one of my favorites in season 3 and thought she would have won had she not been pulled out. Sad to see her go, but man, she should have nut up and rip that hook out.

She was catching fish like crazy. Really tough break for a proven veteran of Alone.

Tough to see her taken out with something like that. While watching I was thinking she should get the fish on shore quick so it wouldn't get away. Turns out that wasn't the worst thing that could happen.
