I watched it last night on tv for the first time since I saw it in the Cinema in 1979.
I forgot how good and creepy it was.

It's absurdly good. The slowest burn ever.

Prometheus was great and the most recent one was pretty good too. The only one that is actually bad is the 4th one. Aliens is fun and Alien 3 is underrated.

This is seriously your second time seeing Alien since it's release and you saw it on TV?

Almost 40 years later?

All those years, never crossed your mind to watch it again until it just pops up on TV one random day - 40 years later?

We're talking about Alien man.

Nope I never did. It's not a movie that I see played over and over like," Dancing with Wolves" or " Shashank Redemption."
Plus, it was so long ago, I actually forgot the storyline, and it seemed like watching it for the first time.
Well, except for the scene where the alien pops out of the guys stomach.

As good as "Aliens" is, I still prefer "Alien." It's just a great, great movie. The script and acting is superb. The first time I saw it, I was 15 and it scared the living daylights out of me.

I think my favorite scene of the entire movie is:

Ash explains his orders

Re-watched it last week. Really like it, but dang it wa s slow moving. And I kept wanting them to turn on the lights.

"Just flip that little switch over there...and you can see!"

Someone in these movies sure likes to flip that switch up and down very fast at times. Uncredited, so identity remains a complete mystery.

She’s also the lower class mom with the two kids in Titanic

ETA surprised that she did not have a role in Avatar

Ridley's forte is the slow burn.

Alien

Blade Runner

Gladiator

Blackhawk Down

American Gangster

Those are some of the best films of all time, too.
