It’s on Fridays now and the first two episodes of season 5 premiered last night.

Anyone else still watch Shield? I just finished the first one from last night and it was really good. I felt like the show started lagging a bit in season 3 and into the early part of season 4 but then it kicked up a notch around this time last year and now they’re in space.

And I don’t want to spoil anything but the premise isn’t what some of you were thinking. It looks like it’s going to be an interesting ride this season.

This season opener was just simply amazing. If the rest of the season matches this episode - we are in for a great ride. Hands down, this is the best program on television.

I deliberately skipped all of season four. Watched both parts last night and will stick around for next week's episode.

Just finished the second part of the opener.

Wow. That was a lot. And all of it was awesome. They’ve taken the concept of a flash forward and amped it up.

We’ve gone full sci-fi in space with a Battlestar Gallactica feel.

Shield really has climbed to the top of my list again. The new environment that they’re in, the antagonist, the effects(surprised ABC still puts that kind of money into this show), the fast pace of the story, and the fact that it continues to be very well written really has me hating the wait from week to week.

What a great show. I’ve also read that Disney has given Shield protection from cancellation too. As they should. So many great Friday shows have been axed early in the past. Good to know it won’t happen with Shield.

It's crazy too, because Whedon IS S.W.O.R.D. but I really like where they went.

Man you really missed out, the final 2 story arcs were absolutely phenomenal

Yeah, I really wasn't expecting the twist that they threw on top of them being in space. May got a raw deal with the situation she "woke up" to. Did Fitz's message on Mac's postcard just mean that he was working on a way to get them back?

Agents of Shield is probably my second favorite of the comics based shows right now (The Gifted is my favorite).

Knee surgery IRL. Using this to give her the excuse she needed to go easy on it.

Does this season have anything to do with SWORD?

It seems like that ship has sailed.

AoS is my favorite show on tv. They managed to kill or send off 4 really likeable characters and I still like it.
This is going to be an interesting season. First episodes were great.

Like 0 chance, looks like another brand new story with no comic book story to follow (the mainframe story was a 100% original as well) and the mainframe story last year was my favorite AoS story arc to date

So how big is the time jump?

They mentioned the ship was built 90 years before. Assuming Quake didn't do this right away... add another 3-7 years before she screws up and maybe another 5-10 years for the damage to Earth to get as bad as it does. Probably 100 - 110 years in the future.

This could also lead Coulson into creating S.W.O.R.D. but I strongly doubt it.

The thing is, there's only one Inhuman with the power to break a planet, and it's not Daisy Johnson...

I was wondering the same. Now that we know we're dealing with time travel, Fitz could already be at the station for all we know. Or maybe, as expected, he's on Earth in the past working on what happened and how to get them home. If that's the case, it doesn't look like he's showing up for a couple more weeks.

Ep.3: A Life Spent- Daisy decides she will rescue Simmons, even though she must risk everything to do so.
Ep.4: A Life Earned- Coulson and the team discover their captors' true intentions.
Ep.5: Rewind- No description yet.

Any theories on who/what that bald thing was in the beginning during the Talking Heads intro? Alien? A.I.? Has to be from the future if they sent Shield there right?

I really like Gifted but Shield and Gotham are 1 & 2 for me right now. They both share similarities with their fast paced stories, using the multiple story arc "mini-season" approach that's getting more popular, and the writers keep thing's fresh and fairly unpredictable.

Oh and BA, you're right on how far in the future they are. They're about 100 years in the future. The writers gave that estimate in an EW article.

Pretty damned smart, it fit into the show perfectly.

I don't think she did. Deke is basing his belief on snippets of data. At the very least she couldn't have done it unless they are able to go back to their original time.

The time difference was a good swerve. I thought the monolith looked different but just chalked it up to someone on the creative team having fun.

BTW: I loved the team's reaction when Yoyo mentioned they might be back in the Framework

Mack was hilarious the whole premiere. His comment after they suggested to split up was the best: “that’s exactly what they say before they start getting picked off one by one, *pause* and we know who is going first”

Coulson: "Geeze Mack, how hard did you hit him?"

Mack: Are you kidding me!? I hit him as hard as I could!"
