But it was legitimized by King Tommen IIRC.
I don't remember that, but it is possible. I was under the impression it was up to the lord to recognize his bastard or not.
Yeah, it was Tommen that legitimized Bolton's bastard. And Robb legitimized Jon as King in the North

One thing I don't like about Cersei in book 4 is that she went from shrewd and crafty to in-fricking-sane and delusional with no real cause or build to it. It just was there.
Typical woman. What's there to explain ?

I read on another message board that GRRM has confirmed that the unnamed POV character in ADWD is going to be Ser Barristan. If that's true it will be interesting to see his thoughts on any number of things. I think he holds clues to several of our little mysteries.

saw that earlier, gonna gain a lot of knowledge from his POV. B/n his and Mel's, this book should move the story ahead a ton. Should be great

I do not think she was that good, Little finger rips on her saying that she is more looks than brains. She is dangerous because she thinks that everything that she does is perfect.

Cagey is a good description of Cersei, IMO.

Ya pretty much. Ive spent the last few weeks using all my free time and late nights reading. I couldnt put it down. I invested so much and I just knew it wasnt going to happen. Then it did. I at least hoped maybe hed go down in battle or something greater.

Haha. If that upset you I would stop reading now...

In Westeros being good and honorable just gets you killed. This is a theme that Martin absolutely loves. He uses it in all of his books, especially SoIaF.

you haven't seen anything yet.
My lasting impressions of the first book were mainly ab how much I couldn't wait to see what happens next after those two events and after it was revealed Jon and co. were finally heading beyond the Wall.
quote:that's one reason why these books are so great imo, bad things happen to good people all the time in life. ASOIAF is not LotR. Ned's death was a huge shocker at first, but I thought AGOT's subsequent chapters helped leave readers w/ somethings to really look forward to and give you hope for what happens next (King of the North and Dany's final chapter).

I'm really looking forward to this in the show, I assume it will be the final scene of season 1. She becomes the baddest bitch on the planet.
