Starts now.

quote:

The documentary event “Secrets of Playboy” explores the hidden truths behind the fable and philosophy of the Playboy empire through a modern-day lens. The series delves into the complex world Hugh Hefner created and examines its far-reaching consequences on our culture’s view of power and sexuality.

Unravelling the glamorous mythology created by the brand over several decades, the series features archival footage and exclusive interviews with insiders from all facets of the Playboy world, many sharing their stories for the first time. Interviews include former Director of Playmate Promotions Miki Garcia; past girlfriends of Hefner’s including Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Sondra Theodore; Hefner’s personal valet Stefan Tetenbaum; Bunny Mother PJ Masten; Playboy Mansion West resident Jennifer Saginor; and members of Hefner’s staff and inner circle, ...

So basically bitter nobodies. Wake me when they interview Barbi Benton, Kimberley Conrad or Christie Hefner. The cocaine addicted poodle story though is a nice touch for their fictional documentary.

I do believe it was about getting laid. I do believe everyone of legal age involved knew it was about getting laid. It's a game that insures we don't completely become extinct.
I'm all for young adults playing it forever.

Haven’t seen yet but the quotes I’ve read so far sound like carefully crafted rape insinuations without saying rape, which is pretty irrelevant given the context.

So they need 10 hours to tell us Hugh Hefner was a pervert that liked to drug and have sex with multiple women

Wish I’d have seen from the beginning but I just put it on. Holly Madison is saying they were “gaslit” to think Hef was a good guy. And it was like a cult because they weren’t really allowed to leave, and they were isolated from the outside world. And then two minutes later she’s saying how they went clubbing twice a week, and she loved “staying in” and watching the old movies on the movie nights twice a week. And that she kept her waitressing job until Hef asked her to stop (note: didn’t make her; asked her)…and she eventually quit because he started giving her an allowance of $1,000 a week to spend. And she loved playing hostess and going to the buffet dinners and talking to all of Hef’s friends and whatnot. And now she’s saying she wasn’t in love with him and that it was Stockholm syndrome.

Yeah, okay. So which is it? You were trapped there or you loved it there because of all the fun, awesome shite you did (and were paid for)..? And I also assume you ate up all the fame you got for those years as his girlfriend too. And cashed those checks with a smile on your face. But I guess deep down you hated it all? Get the frick out of here with that shite..

Not hard to imagine that a bunch of vapid whores got bamboozled into a situation that turned into a nightmarish reality by some old pilled-up skeleton who had been manipulating people and his own image for decades.

Hef was legitimately one of the most effective civil rights advocates in the 1960s because of his power and influence on popular American culture.

But in 2022, since he made nudie pictures for 16 yr old hormone-ridden teenagers, he's somehow now the devil.

The 20 yr olds who fricked his old arse for money and prestige sold their own souls and now sound like they want more money off a dead and buried brand.

You'd have to be an absolute moron to believe those girls didn't know what was going on. The entire world knew what was going on.

There’s a few articles out right now of women speaking out about how bad it was being Heff’s lover/whore. Like really, you went to the playboy mansion knowing full well what was there.

When I was younger I remember the Jack Nicholson line from "As Good As it Gets"

quote:

Jackie: How do you write women so well?

Melvin Udall: I think of a man. And I take away reason and accountability

At the time I thought it was a good cheap shot from a misogynistic writer. Now I am not quite sure.

There is certainly a tendency of many women to completely disregard their own accountability. Holly Madison used Hef at least as much as he used her. She became more famous and more wealthy solely because she sought out Playboy and Hefner.

Was Hefner a man who slept around and supported a large number of sugar babies? Obviously. But were this an old lady (Cher? Sally Field?) who was sleeping with a much younger man it would also still consensual between adults.

No harder than I do believing those whores knew exactly what they were getting into and crying foul now is closing the barn door after the animals have escaped

Modern women, after the looks fade and they're not desirable any more, like to pretend that their own choices were foisted upon them by lecherous men. Revisionist history, zero accountability.

He wasn't geriatric in the 70s when some of these alleged* incidents took place. I still want to know why such strong, independent women couldn't say "No" or get up and leave

IIRC hef wasn't worth much at the time of his death so there really isn't going to be much left to prop up the aging whores. internet access to free nudes had taken a huge chunk out of the nudie publishing game.

"Secrets"

There's a reason that no one wanted their daughters around Playboy. Everyone knew the deal. Unless they're saying that he was putting guns to womens' heads and strapping them down to inject them with heroine, it's nothing new.
