Ridiculous

It's not nominated for anything else, but gets a best picture nod...

Mitchell's vs the machines better win animated. Sony pictures has is dominating Disney lately, but encanto will likely win because of recency bias and diversity.

I think this is the fewest best picture nominees that I've ever seen.

I have only seen Dune. I will likely watch Nightmare Alley this weekend.

Bardem was so good in Being the Ricardos. Definitely deserves the nomination and probably the win.

I'm shocked Jared Leto didn't get a nom for House of Gucci

So was Kidman. I felt like they both nailed their characters and also nailed the dynamic between them at least what we knew of them which for the time was much more than the average Hollywood celeb.

Dune.

Until Best Makeup & Hair Styling the only movie I've seen out of all of the non-tech awards is Dune.

He was nominated for a Razzy yesterday.

For real.
Take out Don't Look Up and it's a solid list.
(I liked Don't Look Up, but I don't think it should've gotten any nominations.)

In the Best Picture category, the only one I haven't seen yet is Drive My Car, that thing is frickin' three hours long.

In the main categories, it feels like only 10 movies were made last year.

I agree, Jared Leto was great in House of Gucci and should have been nominated.

I loved Jessica Chastain in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

Andrew Garfield was very good in Tick Tick... Boom!

Ariana DeBose stood out in West Side Story.

I thought JK Simmons totally nailed William Frawley!

I can't believe The Rescue wasn't even nominated for Documentary. I thought it was a massive accomplishment. But a special group works on the documentary nominations, and they may have seen it as a high-budget, high-visibility project that doesn't need the attention.

That and I'm not sure how to even watch it.. it's not currently on any streaming platforms, and apparently had a very short run in US theaters in mostly major markets like LA and NY.. I have heard it is a surprisingly great movie

Academy is punishing him for taking a role from a Trans in Dallas Buyers Club

But he won the Oscar for that...

Jim Carrey not even getting nominated for Truman Show or Man in the Moon is true Academy punishment.

Anyway, I think the final spot came down between him and Plemons.. and they probably picked the wrong choice.
