My wife and I have recently tried to break out some of our old favorite movies for our son to watch. Appreciate any other suggestions that are appropriate for that age.

So far we've watched:
Field of Dreams
Ferris Bueller
Big
Spaceballs (maybe not age appropriate but he loved it)

Goonies
Neverending Story
The Last Starfighter
Top Gun
Indiana Jones
The Sandlot

Those were my most watched movies as a kid of the 80s/90s

I can't imagine a 9 year old today will care for Field of Dreams or Ferris Bueller.

But the one where the 13-year old magically grows up and bangs the 30-year old executive is age appropriate?

I'm glad someone mentioned "Flight of the Navigator."

There's all those movies with the Jim Henson style puppet creatures to go through as well.

"Short Circuit"
"Batteries Not Included"
"Little Monsters"
"Clue"
The two Addams Family movies are great as well.

Agreed. There are so many great kids movies from the 90s. No need to show the more adult content. Let the kids be kids.

Beethoven, Little Giants, Sandlot, Richie Rich, Homeward Bound, etc., etc.

Think I saw these when I was 11 or 12. Game changer.
