50 Questions About the Baffling "Game of Thrones" Episode Four

9. Why wouldn't the showrunners show us Arya and Sansa's reaction to the news that Jon is a Targaryen?
10. After George R.R. Martin spent decades writing thousands of years of Game of Thrones history, with generations of family lineages, why did the writers think it was okay to just say "the new prince of Dorne"? Did GRRM die inside a little bit when he heard that?
16. How did Bronn just walk into Tyrion and Jaime's room unchallenged?
22. Or couldn't she have flown around the boats out of their range and come in from behind where the scorpions couldn't fire through their own sails and torched Euron's fleet?
24. So did Euron's fleet just turn around and leave after destroying her boats and killing one of her dragons?
28. How did they know Missendei had been kidnapped?
31. How did Tyrion survive the ship mast falling on his head while he was in the water?
37. Theoretically, if all of these armies needed to move around the continent, and Cersei found out she was pregnant at the end of Season Seven, wouldn't she be showing by this point?
42. So, was the only reason Jon didn't fly a dragon south because the writers needed an easy way to kill another one of them?

Jon said Rhaegal was injured and didn't need the added weight. I can buy that....but I agree with all the other questions you posted.

Seems like they could have done the same thing at King's Landing

The two best questions:
21. Theoretically, couldn't she have flown up in the air then dived straight down on the ships to burn them?
48. How was this episode an hour and a half?

This doesn't bother as it has some others. I mean, I'm no naval historian but I feel like it's pretty common practice throughout history that one fleet actively seeks to engage the other, destroys it, and then leaves. How many naval engagements are immediately followed by the victorious fleet landing an invading force?

My biggest problem. We'd better get a damned flashback to this moment with a large plot device when we get there.

For whateverthefrick reason, Danaerys panicked after realizing she lost her second dragon and decided not to even put the last one at risk.
Of course, she did this after first flying right at Euron. So yeah, doesn't make much sense.
You would also think that Euron would have been smart enough to have some ships in the rear with ballistae facing backwards.

Answer:
6 episodes in the season
Have to even the odds to make things "interesting"
Setting up the plot to have their chosen person take the thrown
- Dany goes mad
- Give the fans some gladiator fights, some betrayals, some trials, you know the "GoT" type stuff
- Oh yeah. have to throw in some actual gamesmanship "Bronn"
So disappointing.

I'm still trying to figure out how Missendei was plucked from the sea and thought to be kidnapped rather than drowned.

Well dragons wouldnt even be able to fly if they were real...so introducing physical constraints is silly. Either ignore them or dont.

Perhaps they received a raven at Dragonstone with that bit of information and setting up the meeting?
Which would have been a pretty useful scene.

Perhaps. If we take it upon our imaginative selves to fill in the blanks, we get great episodes.

They needed 5 Tormund one liners about getting his wildling wet....no way they could have gone with 4 of them and included information pertinent to the fricking story.

The good writer was sent on a starbucks run that day.

This also begs the question of... why wasn't Cersei/Euron occupying Dragonstone since there wasn't apparently anyone there?

I think this was done for the book readers; and I thank them for it.
We don't know how the book storyline in Dorne will go, so that's one reveal we will have left.
Assuming that Doran and Trystane are killed, we are left to wonder who will end up as leader of Dorne:
Arianne
Aegon (Blackfyre?)
Darkstar
Sand snake(s)
I'm glad they didn't name the Prince. This is the only thing about Dorne thad D&D got right.

She was the only one that made it to the skiff, so she would have been easier to get

51. Why not plan a night time ambush fly-by of kings landing to turn the scorpions to ash

24. So did Euron's fleet just turn around and leave after destroying her boats and killing one of her dragons?
This seems like the easiest one to answer. The number of bolts on-board the ship are finite; without the bolts the ships would be exposed. Dany disengaged, but may have gone back if Euron has pressed the attack. Likewise, Euron may have used his supply of bolts, and planned for the hit and run attack from the beginning.
