What gems have you found in the $5 movie bin? If you have the patience to dig a little you can find something good once in a while.

I picked up Gremlins last night after passing over classics like Hustle and Flow and Madea goes Somewhere and Does Something Again.

I casually glance into the 5 dollar bin, but I don't sit there and rummage through it.

I find it funny when people pull out that gem they have been searching for and they get very excited about it.

"Look what I found honey!!! The Golden Child for only five dollars."

"frick Yeah!!! Beverly Hills Ninja for only five dollars."

I don't want to be one of those people.

My old roommate in college used to buy movies exclusively from the $1 and $5 bin at walmart. He found stuff like:

The Guy with Secret Kung Fu
Crippled Masters
Missing in Action I and II
Delta Force
Death Machine

And strangely enough he actually found one amazing movie. Paths of Glory.

More recently, I found Elvis Live for $4.00.

I rack up on all of the old WWII movies I can find. Usually the ones that have 2 movies on one disc.

Super Troopers and Batman Begins are two good ones I've found that I can recall. The problem with the bins is you end up picking up the same movie multiple times.

Yeah, I don't think I am one of those people. If I'm not in a hurry I will look around for a bit though.

My favorite are the families that spend an hour digging going back and forth "Y'all want this one?" "Naw, Ma we done got that last week!" "They don't eva update these things!"

I encountered one of those yesterday. That's when I left.

I glance through it sometimes while waiting on my wife. But, I have never found anything worth a damn, except for maybe something for the young kids. i think we got Ant Bully one time.

It's the only way I could be certain I looked at all of them.
