re: Yahoo - Jim Harbaugh open to returning to the NFLPosted by DawgHorns on 11/5/20 at 10:40 pm to TigerintheNO
If the NFL can rehire Adam Gase they can rehire Harbaugh.
Kliff fricking Kingsbury is making it work, so its not like you have to be good in college either.

Mike McCarthy won a super bowl with an all time front office and qb
Do you see what lafleur is doing with basically the same players

that is a much better list

Harbaugh has mental problems. Like a petulant nine-year-old child.
I'd bet money he's on the autism spectrum.

I agree with this. NFL and head-scratching hires go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Despite his attitude...someone will take the chance on him. You really think the Jets fans wouldn't love that hire?

I don’t think they would

It would be a significant upgrade, especially now that the AFC East is pretty much up for grabs.

So would hiring Rex Ryan again aim a little higher

Would he want to go there is the question. Talk about rock bottom.... that’s where the Jets are at.

Why not? Just because he's not winning national titles at UM doesn't mean he can't be successful in the NFL. Heck, Kingsbury is doing ok, and everyone on this board laughed at that hire. CFB and the NFL are completely different.

I think Harbaugh has been underwhelming at Michigan, but he was quite good at the pro level until his entire roster was injured in his final season.

From a fans perspective, he doesn’t look that much different from Gase. Coach that’s coasted the last decade off of past success
Sure Harbaugh has some playoff success, but so did Rex Ryan when he was there.
I just don’t think another retread is gonna move the needle for that fan base given how dire the situation is

I’d be more concerned with his inability to form an elite offense at the college level while the league is in the middle of an offensive revolution as well as all the things players and people around the 49ers during his time there had to say about him. It was ugly.

He has been good to very good but not elite (certainly not worth top 5 coaching salary).

Exactly. This board acts as if he's been a complete failure. Michigan is not what it used to be, regardless of how much the media hypes them up.
