32 team 8 opening sites where all 32 teams guaranteed 2 games and then the final 8 in Palestra run like Battle 4 Atlantis Maui etc?

Have the initial rounds in historic gyms around the country

Examples of places to play the first round
The Pit
Hinkle
Alaska Airlines Arena
Freedom Hall
Northeastern’s Arena
Municipal KC
Fogleman

Then rotate it around yearly to the historic venues but always keep the finals in the Palestra

I still think they should have played the 2020 NCAA Tournament last November just as a preseason tournament. Who cares if it's not all the same players, and you wouldn't even have had to crown the winner national champs.

Good idea but logistics and selections of teams would be a nightmare. Would be cool if they let Power5 send 3 teams with A10,big East send 2 and the rest as at large.

Big East is really a Power Conference

I get logistics for the 2nd would be rough but we’ve seen football games be scheduled in a week or less so why can’t teams that don’t advance find games?

Off topic somewhat

But I’d rather see conferences do showdowns in Football

So if you have the SEC vs B1G or Pac. The Bigs play each other

Take the Bigs as example

tOSU vs OU in Cleveland
Texas vs Michigan in Arlington
Iowa vs oSu in KC
Northwestern vs Baylor in Soldier Field
TCU vs Indians at Lucas
WVU vs Maryland in FedEx

you can figure out what I mean. Play 1 game Thursday night one on Friday 3 on Saturday 3 on Sunday and final 2 on Monday of Labor Day weekend. The amount of money generated and excitement would be astronomical If they expand to 8 or 16 in CFB these will hopefully happen

Do they still host games there? I walked in last time I was in KC about 5 years ago. They still had seats, but the floor looked like it was setup for a expo of some sort. I know the new arena downtown hosts the big events, and before that was Kemper.

The Pac 12 and B1G had this set up if I recall correctly, but then both conferences decided to go with 9 conference games and it got scrapped.

No. Preseason/early season tournaments suck. I would much rather see home/home because the crowd is a huge part of college basketball.
