Worst new NFL stadiums
Posted by Cosmo on 10/4/20 at 8:05 pm392
For purposes of this thread “new” is built since 2010
Worst has to be Levis. Looks like a NASCAR track on outside
Honorable mention Mercedes Benz Stadium simply because of the sphincter roof. Otherwise nice.
MetLife pretty bad as well. Symmetric cheap cookie cutter looking

Levis Stadium is the most hilarious building to ever cost a billion dollars. It's terrible.

Levis is so bad no one even came to the game tonight

$1.3 billion
$1.08 billion

I've been there, it's easily the worst NFL stadium I've ever been to and worst than most big time college football programs as well. I really was taken aback at how cheap it looked and seemed, both outside and inside. It's insane that POS is as new as it is is and somehow cost what it cost.

They missed an opportunity to connect the Mandalay Bay lazy river to the stadium
Huge whiff

As someone who has attended and officiated games at MBS, that place is a palace. Great sight lines all the way around, wide concourses, and a great view of Midtown Atlanta from inside.
Agree on the roof though. LOL.

That makes it even worse since it's an hour outside of San Francisco.

They spent somewhere around 100-125 million buying 30 acres that used to be a theme park that was going to be bought and converted into an office park
Why they focussed on over paying for that specific spot that is a bitch to get to is beyond me.

The rest of the stadium costing $1.2B is still absurd.

It’s probably in Santa Clara bc that’s where the season ticket holders are.
I’d also imagine I’d would have cost $4B to build the same stadium within SF City limits

Yeah, but NRG is nearly 20 years old now. It's not in the same generation as these newer ones.
It's incredible how Jerry World still stacks up to some of the newer stadiums, despite being 10 years old now. It's a great place to watch a game.
Also, I agree with the poster about the new Atlanta stadium. It's a great viewing experience.

Downtown Atlanta, not Midtown

I’ve heard the hotel situation and accessibility around Levi is a disaster.
Also the sun in day games roasts fans from what I’ve read
