Will the Jerry dome and other modern stadiums be around for 50 years or will they be dumped in 30 like some of the other ones?

Nope, they'll want newer and shiner stadiums every 30 years.

The days of "classic stadiums" like Soldier Field and Lambeau are done.

Everyone will want something shiny and new every few years.

What are you trying to say here? Will Jerry World outlast the Cowboys stadium that was there before it?

I think the stadiums being built now will have a longer life span than the ones built in the 60s and 70s did, yes. That was a pretty depressing era for stadiums around the country.

Really disgusting period in architecture. Just dreadful.

Like the 80's were much better...

...I really would like a new basketball arena. Or at least a renovation so the PMAC doesn't look like something from Independence Day...

In 20 years we'll be saying the stadiums of today look like junk.

The ga dome was state of the art 20 years ago and now they're tearing it down.

Camden Yards opened almost 25 years ago. It is still one of the best stadiums in the country. Classic never goes out of style.

FedEx might be the worst modern day stadium there is, can't wait till they tear that shite down and move back to DC.

agreed. in 20-30 years Jerry World will look like something along the lines of an el comino compared to what is being built at that time,

and while im thinking about it,

anyone know why the Univ of Phoenix stadium has a roof that is not symmetrical? i mean it just looks off, and i cant figure out why it was done that way

Structurally, they should last longer, but will go out of fashion for other reasons.
